Leakers are guessing that Infinix Note 40 4G and Note 40 Pro 4G will have AMOLED flat displays, while Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro+ 5G might bring curved AMOLED displays.

4G variants chipsets might be another custom version of Mediatek Helio G99, just like Tecno did with Spark 20 Pro+.

Note 40 Pro 5G might come with Dimensity 7020 and the Pro+ variant is expected to bring Dimensity 8200.

Now after the launch, let's wait for my favorite, 40 5G and 40 VIP 🥰

My knowledge in physics is at high school level, therefore, I don't dare tinkering with these settings. Anyway, I always buy my phones from EU outlets because if something is wrong/missing, I can always return the unit within 2 years. But if you know how to modify/change the frequencies, you can cheaply import units directly from China. I heard that you can technically put an FM radio in a phone if you know how, because the antenna is already built-in, you probably need some software/driver to operate the antenna. It's amazing what the younger generation can do nowadays.

If you know the exact bands that you need, the only thing you have to make sure is to check reputable websites and reviews to see if the desired phone has the necessary bands. Kimovil and GSMArena both seem to be perfect for such task, all my Asia/China only devices have 4G+ and even 5G in Europe. One very good example would be my Infinix Zero 30, which is now available in my country, but the model I have came straight from India, and still works perfectly.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2024Didn't the Note 12 VIP support 120W wired charging?Yes it did, but that had no wireless charging option. Zero Ultra supports 180W fast charging, but again no wireless charging.

If the required bands are physically not available then it's not possible. Other than that I have plenty of phones from outside Europe and 5G works on all of them even though I live in Europe, so you just have to make sure that any given phone you purchase has the bands you need, and you should be good to go with said device.

Or do they lock it down? I am pretty sure Mediatek based smartphones have a special menu where you enable/disable LTE bands.

Judging by the curved screen, there will be no headphones jack nor micro SD slot on this device. I also suspect the Dimensity 8200 or the 8020 will be used here

Didn't the Note 12 VIP support 120W wired charging?

When I encounter these types of brands, I worry about the absence of EU network bands, which is why I insist on buying units only from EU outlets. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they will price this phone, as Xiaomi's Poco F-series has become too pricey for my tight budget.

The Infinix Note series is basically the same as the Tecno Camon series. Just with slight tweaks to cameras and charging.

This isn't a criticism, just an observation.

Although I will be criticising if Transsion remove the headphone jack and microSD support from the Tecno Camon 30 Pro and Infinix Note 40 Pro after the previous versions had both.

I'm just hoping the Pro+ gets an ultrawide camera as well, a 13mp one with AF like some other Infinix phones. Otherwise sounds awesome.
