Sad.. very sad. Symbian was good and Nokia gave hell of a lot to early mobile users and shaped up the industry. Pity they couldn't understand the market dynamics and where it heading. Becuase of failures of Nokia and now even the Apple, we are forced to use more power, more specs but less performance phones by Androd.

Edit - when I say less performance it's the optimisation of hardware and custmized software. Even though we talk about customisation of Android its just the interface that we customize, not optimized.

Nokia 808 and N9 are should be collector phones.
                  RIP Symbian and MeeGo

                    Good riddance

It's time to buy a 808 and keep it inside the box. At some time later it may become a a collectors piece.

                        I miss u symbian ...

I like Symbian a lot, but since that Elop guy took over, Symbian is as good as a zombie waiting for exit.

Its sad news to me, I really liked symbian, it has always the best smartphone OS ever made, it was also very soft and never required lots from hardware. Goodbye nokia then, probably forever because I hate microsoft and apple. Android sucks and I dont need lots of apps or games. Symbian was immediatelly ready to use after choosing language, setting date/time. No any other information was needed. Video and photo editing tools, video calling etc... came right out of the box. nokia pc suite was only needed for updating firmware, nothing else. All symbian phones also had dedicated camera button, answer/ end call buttons instead of dumb touchscreen slide/touch to control callings. Symbian had everything I needed right out of the box. After firmware updates symbian has always been very stable for me.

The end of an era !

Though, in current competition of mobile OS, symbian will not be much "missed". But, it will certainly be long "remembered" for what it kept giving us for a decade !
