Shame Motorola doesn't really want to support it with software updates.

Motorola should take care of the naming. This phone could have been called just Edge 50 instead of Edge 50 Pro. Some of the users may think it as a downgrade from Edge 40 Pro as the other phone with 8s Gen3 processor has yet to be completely revealed.
Also Edge 50 Fusion should have been called Edge 50 Neo. Although I would see that Edge 50 Fusion is an upgrade over Edge 20 Fusion, it is still a downgrade from Edge 30 fusion.

Imagine phone like upcoming Vivo X100 Ultra, but powered by 7g3 instead of 8g3. Phone like this for $800 would still be far better than having OnePlus 12R at $500, phone with 8g2.
This motorola gonna be 50.000 at flipkart (bit over $500), variant 12/512.
OP does not have at same price ip68, decent cam combo

For example, there's no point in me buying the Edge 50 Fusion if my Edge 30 Fusion is just as good or superior. Android updates aren't as significant these days, and bi-monthly patches for another year are good enough for me.

Yes it doesnt replace 7+ gen2, but for the price they should have picked something better.
Oneplus Nord CE4 will have Snap 7 gen 3, and it will be way cheaper than this Motorola.

Do people seriously expect this phone to cost less than 450-500 with these specs?
As for Snap 7 gen 3, its not bad(Antutu scores so far mention 850.000)in general, but its disappointing that the overall performance is worse than 7+gen 2.
It seems to perform slightly worse than Nord 3's DImensity 9000.
