Even the modular Fusion, which by the dimensions listed on the HMD Fusion Development Kit introduction probably has an LCD (most giant budget phones have LCDs and i don't think HMD will use OLEDs again for now)

no doubt it is that bad. i'm not surprised if they put LPDDR3 ram inside

They failed miserably under NOKIA, why would they sell under HMD brand?

Why does the vanila version have the potential to have more ram than the plus?

Anders, 26 Mar 2024A Unisoc T606 SoC?? WTF??!! A cortex A75 SoC that was garba... moreAt least, the T606 is better in every aspect than the Helio G series chipsets below G90, and that's with Nokia's optimization, UFS support and stock Android, so there's that. If it was some other brand that cripples their low ends to paperweights (cough cough Galaxy A03, Moto E32, Moto E13, random Tecno/Infinix/iTel phones cough cough), it would've been awful for not just the users, but also for prospective buyers.

Depends on how you see it. If it was awfully optimized like the awful JLQ chipset in the Poco C40 with similar specs, it would undoubtedly give a worse experience to users.

I'd appreciate a bigger range of chipsets for Nokia mobile's phones. If they managed to do it, it would be safer for them to gain spec-conscious customers.

They are definitely going to take advantage of North American's lack of options and get the average unsuspecting customer to buy these phones.

Just another one of those crappy phones that you randomly see being displayed at a smartphone carrier booth.

A Unisoc T606 SoC?? WTF??!! A cortex A75 SoC that was garbage 3 years ago when it was first released and is even worse now.

The smartphone market is terrible across the board now, but hmd are undoubtedly the worst. I don't understand how they're still in business.

I genuinely don't get HMD. What do they hope to achieve here? Competition is as hard as can be, yet their designs are bland, their specs are below average, their prices are typically much higher than the competition, and they don't offer any real differentiator like other small brands (Nothing has design, Fairphone sustainability.. etc). So is this some money laundering scheme or something?

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2024I want a mini LED phone. All new phones seems to have OLED ... moreYou know, most manufacturers aren't putting DC dimming on OLEDs not because they can't, but because it's more cost-efficient. Sure, DC dimming on OLEDs will have slight yellow-shift in contrast, but it's only very slight, and can be remedied by software anyway. If you want a phone with an OLED display that has DC dimming, I recommend you go and buy the Realme GT5 Pro, which gives you the option between a 2160Hz PWM dimming rate and DC dimming. Sure, you'd have to import it from China, but it's probably the best display you've ever laid your eyes on that doesn't hurt or strain them.
