Apple's deal with Baidu for generative AI use in China isn't done yet, apparently

I think it's probably only a matter of time. Bing and Sogu would probably be too far behind Baidu so they are unlikely to be realistic alternatives. They're probably just negotiating on the costs.

It's not done yet, but it will be. Apple has no choice but to use Baidu. Samsung uses Baidu as well for China market.
Again, it shows that Apple actually has nothing on this new "AI" stuff, contrary to what Tim Cook said. Apple basically is just using Google Gemini and Baidu, aka cloud based AI. Will be interesting how Apple will spin this in their keynotes, pretending that this is theirs. Samsung was upfront by having Google presenting in the S24 announcement. I doubt Apple would be that sincere.
