AnonD-63956, 17 Jun 2013Because the market demands it Because the consumers demand... moreI also see what Windows would like to do. Even if they're running their devices good with a single or a dual core CPUs, some quad core or octa core fanatics wouldn't still believe that numbers do not really matter so no matter how good WP8 OS is, more people won't easily believe especially there's a lot of high end Android users now that have quad core devices at least so Windows would like to make these people believe in them and it is through using quad core CPUs and maybe atleast 2GB of RAM with the best GPU and LTE connectivity. Not to forget, a 1080p screen is also a big plus, now if Android couldn't keep up with WP's lag free OS and its specsheet that gets better and better then a lot of people from Android community might switch their minds and replace their Android babies to a WP8 or whatever the latest Windows platform for mobile is at that time.

anik, 17 Jun 2013I don't like Nokia phone.I only like android & iOS.but Nokia doesn't like you too.

not really sure why people are complaining about lag in modern day smart phones, all you guys just seem to forget that they are basically small computers, anyone who says WP8 does not lag at all is deluded, anyone that says iphone does not is also deluded, and as does anyone with android is as well, i have a samsung s4, and even that did suffer from a lag issue, i have actually fixed it now, but come on people be realistic, unless you shut your apps down properly, have your device set up correct and manage your device properly you will notice lag ON ALL devices, FACT!!! some OS are better built then others so it is less noticeable.
if you run your laptops with that many apps and process running at the same time you would also notice lag, and besides, how long does the app have to be pressed before it is considered lag???

I think 4 energy eficcient Cortex-A7 cores are also good choice to speed, for such optimized OS as WP8 is.

AnonD-144436, 17 Jun 2013They said that win8 phones can run smooth even with 1 core ... moreThat's exactly what I'm wondering, it doesn't really need it? I'm guessing it's just a matter of battery saving.

At the end of the day, we all have our own needs and hence there is room for different devices!

If you ask me, I can't stand the way Sammy phones look and feel but that's my preference; mostly people have Sammy phones and again I can't stand that!

I have a nokia lumia 920 and a samsung note 11.Each phone has its strengths, i specifically like the note because of the Spen and during meetings i just write quickly what is required. Was given Nokia as a B/day present and i dont see anything useful or more superior than the note. The note is far much more better with unbelievable applications to download that complements my Engineering career.
