When you are looking at a photo, you are not looking at the specs of the camera. You are looking at the quality of the photo. The specs of the camera is just a tool, it's the software processing that turns those data into a picture. It's the end result that counts, not the specs that runs in your head. If you take a photo and develop it with Lightroom, it would look a lot better than if you use a mediocre software processor. That is the reason why photo taken with a Xiaomi flagship with good specs looks mediocre. I'm a Xiaomi phone owner.

LOVE PENGUIN, 06 Apr 2024Nah he's using 14 Ultra, as for EU I'm pretty sur... moreCorrect, Chinese price is lower because they have lower profit margin there. The higher price in other market is due to margin compensation.
The SoC itself already cost $220 in BoM, add that with LYT-900 and three IMX858s, we're already looking at ~$427 worth of silicons, then the other hardware cost... custom glass and aperture R&D cost.
Chinese price only have 10% profit margin, while European is 30% contrary to Samsung's pricing strategy with manageable flat profit margin...
It's basic economy, as for me I'd rather Xiaomi's strategy so poor countries can have lower price while rich nation the opposite. Equity, fair pricing even.

how in lowlight samsung camera uses lower iso and faster shutter speed with much smaller sensors and aperture? detail level is much more in samsung photos. strange...

Iphones cost like 50% more than USA.
Xiaomi phones cost 100% more than China.

VAT and other costs do not increase prices by 600, 700, 800 euros.

In Bharat we get it at 1 lakh sir or $300 cheaper than EU price and Singapore price is close too.
But someone in Shopee sell it for S$999 which I sure as hell would take it instead of the S$1,599 official Xiaomi price, the MSRP guy is right.

If you live in EU that's not my problem, if you don't want to buy the phone that's fine too, but you lot keep whining about pricing, it's as annoying as "People do all gymnastics here to justify xiaomi asks 1500 euros for this device", have you seen a mirror? you do all gymnastic to justify hating on it while the phone itself is critically acclaimed even considering the price, curse yourself from being born and live in Europe I guess lol!

TL;DR: OP has a (you) problem and tries to drag everyone into it.

Cellphone camera are different because the software processing is just as important as the sensor and lenses. The software processing for Xiaomi phones are not very good. They tend to over-expose. In fact, if your Xiaomi phone supports GCAM then you will see a huge difference in photo quality from that same phone. It's how the S24 Ultra can stand toe-to-toe against the 14ultra despite having a smaller sensor. It's the software that takes all that data and turns it into a picture.

Why in Europe it has higher price?

Great comparison. Maybe one or two comments:
The larger sensors and larger max apertures on the Xiaomi cameras allow for up to 2 full stops better light capturing (e.g. in case of the tele camera with f/1.8 vs f/3.5 aperture). The more photons that can be catched within a certain time, the less does the camera need to increase exposure time (introducing motion blur) and the less does the computational algorithms need to average across multiple exposures. Also there's less need for the AI-powered upscaling and sharpening algorithms to invent non existent pseudo-details that only simulate high detail resolution but do not depict the reality.

Coming from that line of reasoning, I would probably give the Ultra 14 the edge over the S24 in terms of photographic prowess.

Beside that, the only real sensible advantage of the 14 Ultra is that its curved glass makes it less painful to hold the device with one hand over some longer time (no sharp edges) and that it slips much easier into your jeans pocket.
So, if I had to sum it up: the 14 Ultra is easier to carry and has the higher potential in the camera department.

Other than that, the S24 seems to be the overall more "complete" and mature phone.
