It's also planning to market much more effectively.

Didn't realize they were selling 235K units a year. Wow! I thought they were selling more like 5K units a year.

I would like one, but yeah the price is too high. Get it down to 400 and I'll jump at it.

Also, there's a 4000mAh variant of the same battery by Nokia itself.

The battery life on a 28nm-based phone is barely different from any phone with a 14nm chipset. In this case, Nokia's software is better optimized to make up for the chipset's limitations (as noted in the C32s my parents use). There's a theoretical efficiency in terms of performance, this

Wafer, 06 Apr 2024I am in the UK so the C12 has a replaceable battery as you ... moreso the removable battery feature is useless then. when HMD does not sell spare parts for its phones.. glad i didn't buy the C12 as a work device.. the battery is just too small. combined with 28nm processor, which results in short battery life.

The funny thing is that from a consumer's perspective, it doesn't make any difference wether you buy this crappy fairphone or any other phone since the devices have already been produced and the so-called emissions have already occured. The only thing the consumer has influence on is what he biys and he is definitely not going to buy overpriced north-european junk.

This is like BP's footprint campaign where people could calculate their own carbon emissions in order to make them thing that climate change can be stopped by their decisions while BP made billions with oil production.

Minu, 06 Apr 2024Haven't you contacted the headquarters directly yet? I... moreYes that was my first port of call to contact that was who told me they don't sell the parts for the phones.

I have found some batteries online now but no genuine ones in my country yet.

So will leave it for now.

Anyways the Nokia BL-38CI is a widely available battery like the older BL-5C. Is it that difficult to find in your region?

Fairphone is for green people I have no problem with that, but I could not justify paying the price for one just because of that and have to compromise on it's performance etc when for the same price I could get a lot better.

Minu, 06 Apr 2024For us however, we can contact the retailer's service ... moreI am in the UK so the C12 has a replaceable battery as you probably know, so when I contact HMD they say we don't sell parts and that I would actually have to send the phone to a service centre to get a new battery, but I just want a spare I am at a loss why they cannot just sell me a spare battery. By sending the phone it makes zero sense at all I would be without a work phone why on earth would I need to pack the phone up for a replaceable battery it makes no sense.

As much as I love seeing the brand expanding to a wider market, I still doubt if Fairphone would sell its phone outside the EU. Don't forget that Fairphone can achieve a much lower carbon emission than most major players because of how they transport the materials.
