This "AI PC" thing is a total gimmick. What are computers supposed to do? Function according to what you tell them to do. All of the features mentioned are useless gimmicks or things that don't need AI at all. Also, who asked for the "AI PC?" I certainly didn't, even though I go out of my way to run local LLMs on mine. But that's a me thing, not something that every PC must have.

I hope it will become fast, smooth and efficient enough so it will be possible to run on mobile phones as well.

It's still crazy to see how smooth it runs on phones with 1GB and 2GB RAM. It's something that Android has never been able to achieve. If Microsoft keep Windows Phone alive, I definitely won't be forced to switch to Android. The only reason I was forced to do so was because of WhatsApp.

I don't doubt Qualcomm can make a great ARM PC SoC. It's just that Microsoft still needs to refine the Windows on ARM experience. Microsoft could have gone Apple's way and forced everyone to go ARM only, but they know it's almost impossible to implement, especially on the business and enterprise level.

Intel lunar lake and Amd strix point(which are coming around june) will be so much better for 15w and up laptops, tablets and handhelds, for ultra low wattage fanless solutions first generation of Qualcomm snapdragon x elite could offer some use cases.
Nvidia could also launch Arm soc for Windows on Arm which could have gpu power to beat everything on the market for the same wattage.
I hope prices of Arm based Windows devices are lower until those can match and even surpass competing Intel and Amd solutions, but from Windows 8 and 10 arm based devices have been underpowered and overpriced compared to competition which will be heavily focus on gpu power, performance per watt and Npu performance.

Also loved those Lumia phones. Si good aesthetic and smart, not clunky cumbersome is.
In that time i prefered androids anyway, because tweakable, rootable...
But now, it's all bricked, wallled garden. For bad reason ( pretending security but in fact, it's their phone, and they want to spy and use your phone your battery your data plan your gps and your private data as it was their's)
So sad...

The reason Windows Mobile fell was because the phones (Nokia) were expensive. They were flagship price with no mid-range nor budget-range options. It's just flagship price and with inferior selection of apps. More people can afford cheaper Android phones.

The problem was Microsoft didn't persist enough and it Windows mobile was not big enough as per Microsoft's expectations. There are phone manufacturers doing far less sales than Microsoft did with it's Mobile. Yet they are doing well. Microsoft's expectations were huge. If they had kept the mobile division as a side project and updated the OS, it could have been a good path for developers to hop on. New developers do lot of opensource projects, those developers could make apps for the Windows mobile.
Even now I think Microsoft could open source the code for Windows mobile and let enthusiasts carry the project for them.
