Let's hope to God that they don't put that awful polarising filter in the screen that spoilt the HTC One by making it depressingly dark.
It maybe good for outdoor use under sunshine by making blacks blacker, but the depressing overall effect on the screen was the reason I didn't buy it.
At last HTC getting the 'battery-life is more important than thickness' message.
I know Oriental users are all about the fashion, status and appearance of the phone - but an increasing percentage of power-users over poseurs mean that they have at last had to get serious about their offerings.
Smartphones are not fashion accessories - and realising that this late has cost them dear in sales, for HTC have made some beautiful Android phones with beautiful software.
Would love to buy this, but the screen is all ... and I fear it'll be messed up as before.
But Kudos for what you have done, HTC.

Ronny, 20 Jun 2013You are right. True engineering is when you put everything ... moreYes. Not that I'm saying it's bad or ugly still. It's still great. Except the part where with a non removable Li Poly battery was lower capacity in a fatter phone...That's just absurd.
Sams as Crapple. htey use non removable Li Poly batteries and use such low 1400MAH for so long.

What I like about this phone:

                  -5.0" LCD3
-revival of the three capactive buttons
                  -BoomSound!
                  -expandable memory
                  -large battery capacity

But I'm getting the One in a few weeks time.
Can't wait to ditch my shitty (performance-wise) One X. :)

Motorola got a 3,300MAH in 9mm thick more than a year ago....And that's one case.
I know the Ultra Pixel has a lot to do with it, but it just got thicker now. Not to mention they could use a lithium Polymer battery...Everyone should use LI Poly, but they don't...And even when HTC did use one it was non removable, less capacity, and in a thicker device....backwards steps.

HTC offered UK and Taiwanese buyers of HTC One free gifts when it was first released. There's no need to overcomplicate things. Yes, there can be free gifts for just one market, even Taiwan.

There won't be a wide release outside of Taiwan. The Butterfly S is a custom handset by HTC for Chunghwa Telecom. The HTC One is still the global flagship for HTC.
