Interested price please.

Last year I got one of the Nokia KaiOS feature phones to have a first hand experience.
What can go wrong I thought. At least it is able to run WhatsApp and Facebook.
I remember my old 3105 being faster. Is not that I was expecting a performance champion, but it is so sluggish that I threw it in a drawer and never took it out a year ago.
So. Avoid KaiOS phones as if they are the plague.

People in countries where these devices will primarily be sold don't typically travel internationally. https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2023/12/06/international-travel/

It could have been said less crudely, to be sure.

Somehow nobody has mentioned the fact that both of this year's 230 and 5310 are absolute downgrade in terms of app support, because their previous versions both have MediaTek's MRE support, and switching to Unisoc definitely removed that.

Here in EU only 3G networks were shut down not 2G.
GMS Services and feature phones unable to connect wifi or data will always run 2G network.
Dont tell me you dont have phone like that for sale there. .

Dr. Watson, 11 Apr 2024"We should point out that all three phones are limited... moreHere in the UK 3G is switched off or being switch off, that is well before 2G will be switched off
6G is scheduled to be rolled out well before the last scheduled date of 2G final switch off on all networks in 2033

The practicalities of this are for me.....
                        1) Not going to buy a 2G phone as texting is near impossible
                        2) it will be impossible to log on any site especially banking and I believe email as it wont be supported
                        3) Nokia 3G phones will automatically switch to the lower 2G. PLUS when 4G goes down on a 4G phone in the UK you lose almost every capability

                        Great, so they're practically e-waste
                        That part I agree with

Once all 2G networks are dismantled to make room for 5G, none of theses will be usable anymore. And this will happen this year in some parts of the world. Shame on you HMD.

Are you saying people buying these phones wouldn’t ever travel for the rest of their lives? Many countries around the world have shuttered 2G networks. Any phones released today should be at least VoLTE capable.

Don't gift this or buy this. Even grandparents are used to smartphones. My grammy lives with me and she's pushing 65 and knows how her Android works within a couple of months.
