Kangal, 06 May 2024Sounds like Samsung is getting back into the fight, it'... moreShould be another competitor in os too but which one ? Linux not make sense, android is mostly Linux already. So many have failed, FF os and even ms win phone ( which was great to me but too extremely closed )

I recall that competition needs at least 3 competitors otherwise is oligopole sth like that.

Kangal, 06 May 2024Sounds like Samsung is getting back into the fight, it'... moreCould be the real coming back this time.
Good for competion, and not only ARMs.
Samsung is known to have not been doing so bad on their 3nm
Let's see in real, so many Exynos fakepromises last years.

Sounds like Samsung is getting back into the fight, it's just too bad they've lost a lot of their potential.

I actually liked their ambition, and pushing for their custom architecture. They should have kept their in-house department and continue developing Mongoose. They lack in the GPU/NPU side, so it would've been great if Samsung was the one to acquire Imagination Technologies. Their fabrications were pretty competitive too until 2018. And now we're seeing a whole system being built. Not to mention they also manufacture the memory, storage, camera, display, and the housing modules. They're the real deal.

In fact, I would've loved to see Samsung stay away from Windows Phone and Android, and instead to partner with Nokia to build a Linux-Ecosystem for phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, TV Consoles. I had their first BadaOS and it was quite revolutionary at the time.

You know, to have an extra horse in the race:
      (iOS) Apple + Motorola
      ("Curios") Samsung + Nokia
("Windows Mobile") Microsoft + Blackberry + HTC
("Android") Google + LG + Sony + Siemens
....that would've been so good, instead of this slow and stale monopoly we have today!

The Exynos 2500 WILL be better than its competitor Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 both in power efficiency and raw performance, according to a post by PandaFlashPro on X (formerly Twitter),

You would expect such a definitive statement to have a basis in fact.
When it is deleted ( the source is gone!)

It shows like some commentators, the buzz is just to post, there is no actual knowledge of anything

Samsung needs to sort the mobile network standby - it's pretty bad on Exynos chips. Got a S23 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and it barely drains the baterry overnight.

honestly Exynos is kinda killing it this year but snapdragon is always racing their way to the top, I'm still using my old android tablet with a Snapdragon 439™ and it's still crushing It No problems with games on medium graphics Whatsoever, I'm thinking about trying Exynos for the first time Tell me if you guys recommend it Or Not!

In exchange, Samsung got favourable pricing, preferential inventory access, allowed to sell mid-range Exynos processors in the lucrative Qualcomm-dominated market (ie in the USA & CHINA) & less Royalty charged for the Samsung 5G modems. So it's a win-win situation for both companies.

Usually, semiconductor development produces decent results in about six years. If there are no results, the project is a failure. Samsung has been working on it for 13 years, but has yet to produce decent results. Why?
By the way, Samsung's foundries have been holding back Snapdragon. Whenever they manufacture it, it always burns. Even though they made relentless presentations and pitched it in advance as being superior to others.
