Google Pixel 8a price leaks, to be pricier than the Pixel 7a

20 April 2024
Flipkart will be selling the handset in India.

Given this price, in my area (SG) I don't even think where would be any price hike at all.

Better go for Pixel 8 on sale.
The A-serie make no sense anymore.

Kinda like how the previous zenfones were released so late when the vanilla galaxy S would already be discounted. This year, Asus actually managed to release their Zenfone in the 1st quarter but made it a clone of their other phone they released 2 mos prior lol

For those saying to drop the a series they have.
It was announced on the 7 series but since 8 was already in process it'll be the last.

          New for 9

Pixel 9 base (would be the pixel 9a)
Pixel 9 pro (would be the normal pixel 9)
Pixel 9 pro xl (would be the pixel 9 pro)
Pixel 9 pro tab (for the fold 2)

That later release a series use to be stripped version and more compact in size but now it's larger and more expensive then just 8 that is few months old

8a price would be fair for 300 euro cause of all the cheap parts it uses As coming out 500-600 euro it makes no sense when standard 8 is already better in every way for that 500-600 euro price range. Even S23 should be around same price range and be more compact and better in every way.

The a series is meant to be a pixel pone but cheaper, the more expensive you make it, the fewer people who will want it

It will probably start at $499.95. It seems like a pretty normal price for the Pixel 'a' series to me. The Pixel 8a will offer the best cameras ever seen in an affordable device, offer incredible extremely timely software updates, and offer top-notch flagship performance that will also be packed with Google's wonderful technology thanks to the Tensor Gen 3 chip. The massive Samsung bricks S23 FE, A35 and A55 won't stand a chance against the Pixel 8a. It will be interesting to compare the Apple iPhone SE (2024) with the Pixel 8a.

But what does not make sense is to release it over half year after the regular series, prices drop and a series is creeping way too much to the regular series price wise.

Make a series cheaper or release it together with regular one, that would make sense.

Google would never give this 1/1.76 to pixel 10 just because of resolution.
Much easier to.offer same 24mp trick used by iphones.
New P70 series do it too.

With the 7a frequently on sale, I don't know what makes the 8a worthy of a price increase. Faster charging? A slightly faster chip? Are they charging more to include larger bezels?!

Pixel isn't worth buying now. Especially with that Texynos, I mean Tensor chip

At this point this should drop the a series and dropped the normal variant down to the 8a price.

It makes sense it will be pricier, the specs go up and we get more fancy stuff like 120hz.

Problem is, Pixel 8 starts at 577 euro in my country, because it's few months old now.

So Pixel wise it makes more sense to get that instead of the 8a.
