An "audiophile" would be much better off listening to a dedicated dap with massive support for codecs rather than a phone-first device that may have iffy compatibility, particularly when it comes to android/app support and bypassing android protocols. Especially when this device will most likely be pretty pricy. Unless the time goes into developing an in-built functional music app, a lot of users will be unwilling to use the garbo music apps currently on the play store.
Also the Chinese aren't exactly famous for having bug free UIs

Not to mention functionality will be questionable (What about equalizer/compressor apps? m4a support?).
Why would we, when 3.5mm jack is something so simple and there's no reason for its removal?
I still only buy phones with the jack, no hassles.

I've tried (Only out of curiosity - I never buy phones without 3.5mm jack, but i use an external DAC on my PC. When i tested it on my phone, it drained about 1% every 8 minutes listening to mp3s. If it is an internet-radiostation, for example, it would be twice as much, because internet traffic itself usually consumes as much).

To keep the cost down, SD4 gen 2 would be fitting. Most Chinese Android DAPS in the market use the old SD660. I would be more interested in the DAC/amp hardware inside (hoping the new ESS9069 or 9039) with some op amps thrown in there. Wish they got rid of the camera and made it a real audiophile device

It's interesting they have decided to release a DAP/Phone. Android DAPs were practically Android phones anyway and it was only a matter of time before someone combined the two.
