Pumpino, 27 Apr 2024I think it depends on what features you need. I totally agr... more"but I don't use them." Of course, you don't use. How could you when you don't even have them? You want to tell me, us, that you'd never have a use for separate app volumes? Really??? What you said is not different from what Apple sh1lls used to say about features iOS lacks. Whatever iOS lacks and others have gets automatically labelled a gimmick. Widget, a gimmick. Now, iOS has both homescren and lockscreen widgets, and we don't hear them call it that anymore. Lol.

It's totally okay, however, if you prefer the feel of near-stock UI, but even that has significantly copied the feel of OEM skins in recent iterations. With Material You design language, stock UI took a lot of cues from other available skins. To me, it's not about feel—I could comfortably use most of the skins, because they've come a long way from gingerbread and ICS days. They've matured in design and UX. It's about the available features in those skins. Most phones with near-stock UIs skimp on nice features, like the one right here. What is the point if I'll have to go looking for third party app solutions that are usually paywares, half-baked, or don't even play well with the system? ROM are getting larger and faster, same as RAM, so, what's the point if I can't have access to nice-to-have features?

Just like with 3.5mm jack and micro SD slot, I'd rather have those features and not use them than to need them and not have them.

They should focus on in improving battery life instead

Cyberchum, 27 Apr 2024This has been a part of Samsung Good Lock for years. Xiaomi... moreI think it depends on what features you need. I totally agree that OneUI and HyperOS/MIUI have more features, but I don't use them and I prefer the feel of stock Android, so a Pixel is fine.

Motorola has this for years, called Multi-volume.

This has been a part of Samsung Good Lock for years. Xiaomi have also had this on their high-performance phones since MIUI 11, IIRC.

Who knows when stock android will get it? Maybe by android 20, lol. And some will be quick to tell anyone who would care to listen how stock android is better. Actual stock android is barebone. If not that OEM skins have gotten really better with features over the years, rooting would have still been a big thing.

Only way I'd use stock android is with root! Else, barely any different between it and iOS. Boring!

Damn, various custom ROMs even have the individual app volume feature, but the negative for that feature was the volume being decreased by 50 percent when it's enabled

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2024This was an Android 10 feature on LG. Why are these guys late? IFKR! I'm regularly using it on my V50 when the Dual Screen case was attached, particularly when playing console emulator games and listening to music at the same. Definitely a useful feature to have. That's why I keep missing LG in the smartphone market even more. They dared to do something different that other OEMs don't dare to do.
