HMD teases Nokia 3210 rebirth, also a trio of 4G feature phones

29 April 2024
The Nokia 3210 was the predecessor of the legendary 3310, which already got re-released several times. The company is also working on Nokia 215, 225 and 235.

It looks nothing like it. Another wasted opportunity, just like the "reimagined 3310".

The irony that the original looks way more modern than the "reimagined" version after all these years.

If it does not look like 3210 then it's not a 3210 rebirth. If they lose the 3-4 buttons under screen system then it stops to be that model shape. I remember that 3110 and 3310 were more popular over the 3210 but i had all of them in one point in life

Super Android 22, 29 Apr 2024I hate this lie that old school phones would last forever, ... moreBro thats your opiniomn some people would rather call than send a very long text and the said storage can be deleted not everybody fills their phone to full storage.

It does look much more like the new 6310 rather than the older 3210. Only from the back you could see a 3210 silhouette in this design due to the curvy sides. The pet of th front that's shown has more resemblance with the new 6310. Th whole silhouette should have more 3210 resemblance I think. But we'll see.

HMD is done, like one of those athletes or bands in music that stick to their hay day because they are so irrelevant/useless now.

These are pointless, a used galaxy a13 is a high quality flagship compared to these phones, they were a nightmare to use in the day having to send 100 texts or less and either your storage is used up or youve run out of credit, using infared to transfer the most basic of data, at best having GIFs that were essentially videos and again your phone could hold about 2 of them with about 30 contacts, people want that again for more money than a decent used smartphone that gives you freedom, sure i guess.

you have to suffer, 29 Apr 2024the 235 looks rather interesting for me as a dedicated mp3 ... moreJust go out and get a used lg from the mid 2010's, probably be cheaper, far more storage for actual music (or using a streaming app), and music quality will be like the the difference in efficiency from running to driving a car.

If these phones cost £10 (or equivalent) I'd agree but they are around £100, for 90s tech? That would be like PlayStation forgetting about the ps6 or ps5 pro and just going "we are going to make a PlayStation 1 again but charge more for it than an xbox one x/xbox series S".

Well, at least they make them in 4G now. But probably too late. I mean with most people now requiring apps like WhatsApp, and with cheap Android getting better thanks to companies like Ttanssion, imo HMD is too late. They should've made 4G feature phones years ago. But nope, they kept making 2G phones.

man .. why do they need to trash my beloved 3210 phone... like 3310 wasnt enough .. leave my 3210 alone!

but HMD never followed these criteria and insist on using something like java-based "Maui" OS.

They never look anything like the Nokia original phones, now adding the HMD logos on the back makes them look even worse. I don’t understand why they keep doing this e-waste instead of doing something good with the brand. Microsoft Nokia’s may not have been successful but at least they were interesting.

if only they priced the phone right. like around 30 to 45 euro max. but i wonder how the 2mp performs. if they record at 480p@30fps like in 5th gen ipod nano. that would make a great use of the camera.

i don't see the point releasing "4G feature phones" if they don't ran on KaiOS.

I am from Bangladesh. I do agree that some people still need a feature phone for day to day life, specially people who depend on voice call rather than internet & messaging apps. But the technology became so old that many local OEMs who can not build a decent mid range android device can easily build robust feature phone under 10-15$ which can last for several years. So who are HMD competing now?

David 040882, 29 Apr 2024Ain't nobody getting hyped for that, HMD. Well many people who dont need expensive smartphone with expensive data etc will gladly buy this.
Its way more sturdier than smartphones and the battery will last way much longer. Its small enough to use in one hand and will be decent for elderly people or small kids as their first phone.
