Idk if this is a novelty, but OLEDs get burn-ins everywhere (that's why MiniLED exists) and in tablets, they better not be used as terminals to leave an application constantly on-screen and running

I currently own the iPad Pro 2018 and I'm not sure if I should upgrade. I'm tempted by the OLED screen but spending $999 for a screen upgrade doesn't seem very prudent as I wont benefit from the M4 and added cameras since iPad is just a YouTube player/ e-book reader to me.

For those who missed it, they basically announced:
iPad Air (11 and 13 inch) with M2, no OLED. Starts at 599 and 799USD
iPad 10 will be cheaper from 449 USD to 349USD, making it the best budget tablet.
iPad Pro with tandem OLED, M4 (bottlenecked) and so on. Starts at 999 USD
Apple Pencil Pro with "barrel roll", squeeze feature, and so on. Starts at 129USD
To break it down further, iPad Air (2024) will have 2 sizes, 11 and 13 inches, will come with M2, double base storage, still LCD with P3 and yea. Starts at the same price too. iPad 10 is the same but just cheaper at 349 USD since Air 5 offers better value per dollar, expecting about 450 USD used. iPad Pro got Tandem OLED, meaning 2 OLED displays stacked upon each other.

Samsung g... moreEven better: iPads need to use iOS, with the stuff from iPad OS inside the OS and apps that aren't optimised for tablets in the App Store being named and shamed. This shouldn't even be difficult, because iPad OS is literally internally the same as iOS, just with some restrictions and less features than mainline iOS. And, iOS then needs to get productivity and production (e.g. music production) tools that exist on MacOS, and get a whole bunch of MacOS features on top. Also, the whole OS needs to be free in the way MacOS is.

They only see bigger numbers as better, with zero understanding about the actual tech being used. And they see changing colorful plastic backs every 6 months as innovations.

This is big, and even if you hate Apple (which I also do), you can't deny that this is awesome, it's a sign of improving manufacturing yields that results in cheaper prices for OLEDs, and tandem displays at the high-end of devices would mean reduced burn-in risks, and an increase in efficiency. All of this will affect the entire market, not just Apple's devices.
