Properly optimised game or os would only use it then.

You mean more powerful cpu onlyBoth Cpu and Gpu. 8gen3 has peak performance similar to m1 (so it’s already worse than m2) and 8gen3 can’t even achieve that peak on phones unless maybe you got some insane cooling. That’s why genshin runs at 720p at most natively on phones (iphones run it at slightly higher resolution but not enough to make a huge difference) while ipads with bigger surface area for cooling using m1 or above runs it at 1440p

About Battery life Odin handheld get like 4 hours , with massive 8000mah battery and that is when you emulate medium games like Mario, things like Witcher isn't playable at full speed but probably it's going to be less.
Take Example heavy native Android games like Genshini impact at minimum modern soc use 5W and 8 gen 3 goes as much as 7W, with 16WH battery that's just 2H of battery life or less.
Inshort Cortex X isn't good if you care about stellar battery life, something like sd 778G or sd 7 gen 3 with flagship gpu make more sense, that's why switch 2 will use 8 cortex A78 cores and Nvidia gpu.

I mean. the PC version requires a GTX1060. a pretty old and fairly low card for PCs but IGPUs for mobile phones are YET to reach that level. EVEN with ray tracing. (putting it on par with maybe RX6400.)
Making a game in the level of Cyberpunk 2077 (and I'm not talking the simpler cyberika. that one's is a cheap copy) is the REAL benchmark.

Genshin is cpu heavy game at 720p, which is why iphones are much better at it, with 1080p he game will be more gpu bound and 8g4 will easily overtake the inefficient apple gpu in a18 pro max plus ultra.

Hardware is exceptional, but it needs to run in modern OS, Linux is awesome for Desktop and PC, but Google built their own property CR@P on top of Linux kernel and made it incompatible with Linux.
So unless we have modern OS like Fuchsia to take advantage of hardware, everything is just waste.

I think gaming isn't just about COD:M or PUBG. Gaming on mobile devices have gained alot of popularity over the years.
For someone like me, I have, like 3 emulators on my mobile phone (which are crazy demanding), and, in some cases, I stream my PC games on my mobile remotely.
So I think mobile phones have evolved.
