Each SpC company only pumps out one major flagship chip per year and I doubt + versions would come to the K series (except Ultra) except when it counts as a generation (like with K60, it uses SD8+G1)

The k80 pro will definitely have it but it would be a big change in strategy if they gave it to the k80 as well. I doubt that they will as it would mean a big price jump and Xiaomi would lose a lot of customers in China as there is a lot of competition from IQOO and Oneplus and Realme in this price category and most of Redmi's competitors will use the Snapdragon 8 gen 3

Anyone looking for a good camera shouldn't be looking at either of the Poco offerings. On the other hand, for occasional shots, it doesn't matter much anyway.

These phones are meant as gaming phones, that is why the budget has been allocated to maximise the gaming performance and that is why other aspects would just be passable.

Today, we have flagship killers with just app/game performance, but not the best audio quality, camera quality, video quality, call quality and display quality(we got FKs with non AMOLED displays too).

And you're right. Eventually, they start selling near to flagship price.

Having said that, flagship Xiaomi devices are not as bad as their Redmi lineup in terms of bloatware.

But still, HyperOS/MiUI15 leaves a lot to be desired.

The lower Quality 1080p front and ultrawide cameras are just baffling.... Just how much 8MPs, tetra-16MPs, and tetra-20MPs they ordered back then? Is it that much more expensive to make the upgrade to make it more usable. I planned to think about upgrading, but those cameras, I got sick of them every time....should I just forget and look for other brands?

turbo 3 and k70 for global.

I just read that Redmi K80 will come with SD 8 gen 4 so that would make the POCO F7 pretty strong when it comes out next year, unless they were to downgrade de SoC somehow.

Sam N8 808 owner, 13 May 2024If I had to bet, these flagship killers will not be able to... moreFlagship is mostly considered as best performance and then cameras. Even flagships dont come with the best cameras like for example Samsung S24 is a flagship but to have better cameras you need something like S24+ or S24 Ultra but S24 still have the best performance chip and latest top end chip.

Flagship killer is more like have close to the best chip as one or 2 generation older but in the middle class price range. I dont remember any flagship killer in past had good cameras. Even the very first flagship killer as OnePlus One. But then again that was to make customers as commercial trick cause with each new model it got more expensive to a point it was at same with rest of the flagships.

Maybe the difference between us is what we consider to be a "decent camera" in a gaming-phone. From my perspective, you can take semiprofessional photos with the F-series if you're an amateur photographer, but then you have to know how to tweak the camera settings.

The Poco F-series was never designed to be a camera-phone, let alone a dedicated camera! Everytime a new Poco phone is announced, hell break loose on the camera's sensors... Wait until the next F6 is released and check the associated thread on GSMArena, it will be literally polluted with derogatory comments about the camera. It's sickening and makes me feel disgusted. The F-series is a "gaming-phone" on the cheap. To the best of my knowledge, a negligible percentage of the gamers care about the camera department. Most of them would love to have a 3.5mm jack for a ton of different reasons, they don't give a S* about the periscope lens. But most of the comments will be about the shortcomings of the camera. It's so tiresome.

Just for the record, I'm neither a gamer nor a photographer. I've been buying Xiaomi's phones for the last decade, solely for their raw performance.

JimmyTheGreatest, 13 May 2024Maybe this is a little off topic... Poco phones, irrespecti... moreI know these uninstallable apps and so on that collect info. Well i am a bit paranoid so i dont link anything to my phone or do anything that involves my personal ID or banking
I only protect my phone with password or pattern. Fingerprint is bad as there for it's saved in my phone and that info can leak and be abused. Same with face unlock or iris sensors and so on.

Each brands have something in their phone that basically collects your data. Since in Europe we dont have phone brands that sell phones for the average people in middle to under middle class. Fairphone has noting fair about them to get you something SD780 for something 700 euro for 10 years of software support. That SD780 performance is basically soon budget class top end as the bottom of middle class hardware that is now SD695

Every brand have their won gallery or something app that you dont delete but have these hidden ways to take your data. A lot of brands tell they dont do it but well who do we gid here ? USA spying and China spying so who do prefer you being spied by ? It's not like US have democracy that is better then communism in China
