Weekly poll: will you buy a Sony Xperia 1 VI or Xperia 10 VI?

The 1 VI may look mostly the same, but it mixes up the Xperia formula quite significantly. The 10 VI brings upgrades of its own and a lower price to boot.

      As of now, Xperia 5V 256gb is looking like an excellent buy. Give some time, the price of 1VI will reduce then buying it is an easy decision. 1VI is a phone that's worth buying even in next 2-3 years to come, given the (wrong) way smartphone market is heading towards.

          1VI is the definition of the state of the art flagship, although expensive now, in few months the price will go down a bit. It's gonna be a great phone to buy in even in 2-3 years time.

          But 10VI is a poor midranger, its processor and camera sensor aren't competitive enough. I'd recommend spending a bit more and getting the excellent 5V 256gb.

            I am delighted that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will be available in the first 2 weeks of June in Switzerland (in Japan, also by operator, SimFree June 21) My 1 V was khaki green; I will buy it in Platinum Silver. do you think the Pro is definitely canceled this fall (just like the 5 Serie)?

              I would add smaller dimension budget and midrange phones to the list as well.

                There are lots of reasons why i dont want a Sony phones. Even tough there are only one thing i care about to have on a phone and Sony phones have it as the 3.5mm jack.

                These also have the SD card slot but i dont care about it as i would not use it cause there is no need for me with even something 64GB storage in the phone be more then enough for my needs.

                Sony is just too expensive and dont even offer the best for the price they ask for.
                And i really hate their phone size thanks to that 21:9 ratio that make the phones too tall when their 6.1 inch screen phones are as tall as phones with 0.3-0.5 inch bigger screen phones are

                  justasmile, 19 May 20244k display is useless.I've been using phones with QHD display since nearly a decade. I know that high res display matters, to those at least who can tell the difference between FHD and more than that

                  So, it's not so useless to me. In fact, it's a crucial feature

                    tbh, i am thinking...
                    1 iv hits most things i like except for the change on display - been loving the 21:9 cropped 4k since 1 ii
                    but i understand that they are aiming for ltpo panel here - variable refresh rate and brighter display and that does not exist on 4k panel, at least for now...
                    i do not like the overhaul of camera apps as well...
                    both things are not for me, but the rest are really tempting... but not as tempting as 1iii came out when i have 1ii...
                    ...
                    as for 10vi... yeah, a bit, too...
                    but for the reason that it retained the 21:9 display (in 1080p)... look how sharper the display in 10vi than in 1v, haha...
                    i am ok with it being in 60hz (make it even an ips lcd, i wont cry over it)... but it is the initial battery performance that is holding me back...
                    sd695 was just better at battery consumption (but so bad that it can only handle 1080p recording, so that's where the trade-off is)

                      Price is 4 times more than some chinese phones with the same specs. Insane

                        I can get rivaling video performance, slightly worse battery life for 1/3 the price for the techno camon premier 5g

                        I'll be downgrading on processing power for sure but not that much significant where it's a deal breaker

                        And that is actually has better global availability than this Sony

                          At first there are better phones out there to buy for a less price.
                          Even the Sony is value and quality for that price many else chinese brands offers equal specced phones for 1/3 less.

                                  I will buy Xperia 10 VI, my phone security updates end by this summer, and no new Android versions.

                                    I'll wait for the ten thousand dollar Pro plus super duper extra deluxe limited edition XX, no matter what company manufacturs it

                                      If they get rid of the chin bezel, but keep the one at the top (Pixel 4 style) then I would consider it.
