Twitter.com now redirects to X.com

17 May 2024
The transition is complete.

Did you see my tweet?
Vs
Did you see my post on X?
Or: Did you see my post on x.com (or x-formerly-twitter)

Isn't it ironic that changing the name to just literally 1 letter would cause a sentence to be longer and confusing?

Anonymous, 17 May 2024No, X is something an 8yr old would think is cool. And X ... moreTwitter is literally a unique name and was so successful it literally got incorporated into the English dictionary, along with related words like "tweet" etc.

                Or probably xhamster 😂

Jerry, 17 May 2024Let's be honest, we will continue to call it Twitter Most sites use the phrase "X formerly known as Twitter"
So there's no avoiding Twitter in this case

                    www.twittertwittertwitter.com

Now might as well Twitter videos be called as??

When "Twitter.com" is it's own independent domain again, with it's own content, then the transition will be complete.
Redirecting the URL is still leeching off Twitter's brand recognition.

And X is typically reserved for businesses with adult connotations, so this is even worse branding.

Twitter was a legit good name, because you knew what it was & what it did.

Whenever he talks about Deus Ex… it’s because he sees himself in Bob Page, not JC Denton. (Elon Musk has lied way too many times in a row, he’s officially evil)

Please always cleared your browser history after watching x. Also keyboard on screen in phone with word suggestions is highly recommended to clear data too.

We will still call it Twitter. Also, who chose the banner for this article? It's kinda comical

The app is now forever doomed to be known as 'X (formerly twitter)' on every single news article

I was excited at the beginning, but finding that I'll have to be for a basic feature like Two-factor authentication was a nail in the coffin for me. Never used it ever since.

in all honestly, x is a cooler name than twitter, twitter name has a bad reputation.
