Anonymous, 20 May 2024What about the M4?We will have to wait and see, I guess. Apple has been previously known to ignore/ not patch critical vulnerabilities which led to the whole Pegasus issue, and continues to enable touchless attacks on iPhones even in April 2024 (as per Apple's own warnings to customers).

Experts say that plugging in the vulnerability in may lead to a performance impact (or a 'performance-per-watt' impact), so it will be interesting to see if Apple is willing to take the hit, or chooses to just manage the media instead.

Crazy pricing for a 'laptop'. Better to wait for the dust to settle than be an early adopter, there will be problems in the beginning; some hardware, some software. Linux should be an option in lieu of Windows OS.

Anonymous, 19 May 2024Macbook is much better It cannot be. All M1, M2 and M3 devices are vulnerable to an unpatchable vulnerability which enables attackers to steal encryption keys. The fault is at hardware level.

Funnier part is: all the youtubers keep ignoring this part in their review / comparison videos. They keep talking as if Apple's chips are comparable to x64 / ARM chips when they are clearly not.

Windows laptops need to increase ppi density instead of resolution
1080p is more than enough for day to day usage and gaming
This type of low powered notebooks is not make for gaming although but normal works can be done in 14 inch 1080p 300 ppi density

                1800€ for an ARM computer?

Seriously, they really don't want to sell it...

The only benefit that these devices have is thet they can remain always on. However it is atleast 30% overpriced.

Tigolebitties, 18 May 2024They're implying that a first gen chip should be cheap... moreVivobook (and even Zenbook) look good in pics, but real life feel is far behind Samsung or Dell.

I think the high price is a good thing here. It will definitely kill that ARM for PC idea. So there will be no problems with compatibility, insane performance loss due to emulation, years of awkward transition to new architecture etc. No one needs that and to be honest literally no one cares for that AI fad.

                        Nah It's not expensive 😂😂

I dont get why do they use a 3K screen resolution for these laptops that have like integrated graphics cards. Do you really need the resolution for programs like exel and the like ? What use this will have any other then to do work as you can't really play games with it or do anything that needs graphics performance.

Really expensive also and it's basically a toy
For that price i expect a laptop to have like i7 or i8 with something like RTX4060 or 4070 in it. With like 32GB DDR5 and at least 1TB storage that can be expanded

                            [deleted post]I said "native".

No one's spending 2 grand on a Samsung laptop especially with that outdated-looking bezel when Asus is going to release Vivobook OLED for a much lower price.

I'm gonna buy a Snap XE laptop but not Samsung.
I want good battery life and performance on battery with the freedom and compatibility Windows provide. Some software won't work as well as x86 but I don't use most of them. I'm sure a lot of open source softwares will work better on these machines. And WSL might work better on ARM than on x86.

I wont put too much faith on samsung laptop, at that price point Id rather get a gaming laptop that has powerful GPU than this disabled soc

SamsungRules, 18 May 2024That philosophy does not work with all Samsung products. It really does. The pricing is fixed artificially high so they can discount it later and make it look like a good deal.
