With the help of DHL, repairs can be as easy as handing the phone over to a courier. Or, if you want, you can do it yourself with tools and instructions from iFixit.

deRykcihC, 20 May 2024ngl that unisoc thing won't last 5years... like even 3... moreNgl man. I've used a phone with Unisoc T606 (Samsung A03). Even though the performance is still smooth, I think I'm just gonna use this phone for another 1-2 years. 5 years? I don't think so lmao.

DarlingYext, 20 May 2024"HMD Pulse+ Business Edition" Really? What is ... moreI thought it's normal for vendors to have their own business lineup? Samsung with their XCover line and Lenovo with their ThinkPhone line. Except if you talk about their absurd naming then yeah. 😂

If a company forces me to use this junk phone, I‘m leaving!

        Dead.

With Android OS on corporate servers OS and swcurity updates is critical.

Aadrian , 20 May 2024My guess is European businesses that want phones that store... moreOnly European still love the old Nokia
Other part of the world already move on to the era of Chinese phone

All phones from all brands should have equal warranty to the number of years in updates.

Anonymous, 20 May 2024Why buy this when pixel 8a has 7 years updates and anyone c... moreProbably because the Elephant is obvious؛ is cheaper, has almost the same OS and can be very easly repaired while repair parts ar darn cheap. For phone calls, emails checking/sending and social media, am pretty much sure that this device is enough and nobody needs pixel 8 or an iphone. Especially a companiy that respects it's earnings.

Anonymous, 20 May 2024I understand about the security update & business envir... moreWell, on short, they want you to buy everything and especially everything they release new. Actually android core is the same since 4 android releases and did nit changed that much overall for more then 7 years now. So you are actually right, besides some gui features android is almost the same, security updates are more important then OS updates, especially for businesses. So hmd has a point, but i would increase the security updates to 7 years, to make it more wanted for businesses.

I understand about the security update & business environment, but I'm curious about the OS update talk. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

What the phone can't do in Android 13, that Android 14 introduce?
What the phone can't do in Android 12, that Android 14 introduce?
Why, after Android 13 introduced, Android 12 device suddenly can't be use?

I'm tech enthusiast, and that's why I'm here.
I do change my phone very fast because I wanna try the newest latest greatest.
But I always keep the last phone as my backup
And I don't feel my backup phone (my old phone with outdated android) suddenly can't do anything.

Oh please, HMD, what kind of business would buy a phone that is already seriously outdated?! Please get serious if you think of surviving. . .

"Also, the usual 3 years of security patches have been extended to 5 years to ensure that company data is kept safe. The phone will still only receive 2 years of OS updates, though."

First, they try to get you with the "5 years" part, only to then throw in "2 years of OS updates", absolutely disgusting.

Two os updates on a phone shipping mid 2024 with android 13. Meaning you're only getting one, since the first is only playing catch up.

ngl that unisoc thing won't last 5years... like even 3years is a bit long for it, unless you're doing absolutely nothing but call on it...

"Setup is easy – it can be done by the company’s IT department before the employee even opens the box."

I'm aware of mobile device management but how's this work if the phone box is sealed?

Are devices pre-configured before shipping or does the IT dept need to physically open each one and connect them with their network / push their apps and security policies?
