05 July, 2013
The month-on-month change is negative too, breaking HTC's positive streak.

It's to be expected if you employ idiots to do your marketing.

The difference is it has larger sensors to capture more light which will improve low-light snaps. Not to forget, it also has Optical Image Stabiliser but not better than Nokia Lumia 920's advanced OIS. If you willing to sacrifice the details of your pictures (especially when zooming) then HTC One is just fine.

AnonD-8561, 06 Jul 2013So then why S4 not selling well and Samsung disappoint with... moreYou are right, Samsung missed the predicted sales but still selling way above HTC Ones. HTC still suffering from losses and that is a huge difference compared to Samsung's profits.

Both S4 and HTC One are equally great smartphones with different pros and cons. Currently, HTC's branding and marketing is weaker than Samsung and that is not going to change overnight. The Ultrapixel technology is not way superior than most cameras in today's smartphones. For HTC to reach Samsung's level of success, they must first set a benchmark in smartphones.

Do you own an Htc One? Have you used one or have taken pictures with that camera. As an owner I can say this thing rocks. Especially when I'm out in low light restaurant or bar. Fantastic software, awesome build. I wish Htc the best, I will support a company if i see they are pushing the design envelope.

Ps the butterfly S looks fantastic too. Can't wait to see what they do next

The impression I was left with when I walked out: are they going to be around much longer?

AnonD-147910, 06 Jul 2013I don't care about removable battery or sd card. What reall... moreMany people do care about those features. Especially former HTC owners of what were their phones that made HTC a hit (Desire, Incredible and Sensation). You look at the direction HTC took with non-removable batteries and no SD card and the direction of sales.
It's my opinion, but I believe there's a direct correlation. It certainly put me off purchasing the One or the Butterfly (which I actually liked more).

In the next month or two the HTC Butterfly-S is coming out with both those features and it should be great performer with the Snap600 (the Snap800 a possible last minute spec upgrade).

We will see how it does compared to the One and Butterfly.

HTC should follow other companies like ALCATEL or HUAWEI.
They should create phone with good specs at a good price.

One thing about HTC is that they make phones at a really high price. That type of pricing is only good if the competition ain't that high. But if the competition is very high, the next step is lowering the price.

HTC One is a great phone, better than samy, iphone. They are just not properly marketing it, also production is too slow, always out of shelf. Now it is available but I am not interested any more.. my friend got it and I love the premium look and all features, why reviewers are hilighting its negative side although in a real time environment I didnt felt anything. But there is a thing worth mentioning, they said ultra pixels although it doesnt make any significant difference in picture quality.

The shortcomings of the One are over hyped. only if their marketing strategy would have been better. I just imagine HTC products in Samsung's showrooms. .....that would have been perfect. I had to wait 2 months to get the One. Because it wasn't at all available in US which is the biggest market. But definitely HTC will do better. It takes time to build that eco system.

                      2 words. Camera and software.

Non-replaceable battery, lack of sd cards etc. are just extras that contributed to the situation.

Once upon a time there was a desire slider :) good phone poor battery. It is too late for HTC! The Designe is nothing without power and freedom of choices. Restrictions, broken promises for software update, poor customer support and premium price tag lead fast to the bottom!

The Galaxy S4 is the best smartphone of the year.

Best hardware, software and the best 13MP camera reviewed on a smartphone. The Galaxy S4 will have the speediest access to Android updates.

Any other phones are just imitations and wont have software updates from Android.

I don't care about removable battery or sd card. What really turns people off the htc One is the camera. Really Htc? A 4mp? I mean ok the per pixel quality is great but 4mp is way too low. People think there is a difference between ultrapixels and megapixels. No people ultrapixels is a name htc gave to their camera because the pixels are fewer but larger. Other than that and the stupid placement and fee of the power button the one would be a success. I hope next time htc releases a better camera phone with the unibody of one. Until then i say goodbye to beauty and say welcome to logic (i will have to buy the s4 or wait for honami)

HTC must abandon their stubbornness and create Android phones, otherwise they will have to abandon the ship! I would immediately place my order if they made an Android phone.

                                Oh, wait.

Although I don't know about such kind of pixels right now, that must be higher than a normal 4 mega pixel.
And it has optical image stabilization, isn't that appealing?

I insist, their marketing strategy/team is the problem.

The mobile tech business is hyper competitive rigt now and once a manufacturer falls behind for whatever reason, it's near impossible to recover..ie Nokia, BB and now HTC. I think where HTC went wrong was trying to pull and Apple and try to dictate to users what features they should have in a smartphone like non expandable memory and non serviceable battery, which is a no no with android users as android phones with their giant screens are power hogs and the battery usually wears out in less than a year. They should have kept things simple like Samsung has.
