But these days Apple is no longer an innovator because all they do is play catch up. Samsung doesn't need to be Apple because they are already successful in their own.
Specs wise, Sony ang HTC are still both inferior to Samsung. I don't care of a plastic build as long as the guts are awesome rather than the premium looking show off that easily chips and bends- the reason Samsung does not want to use Aluminum. Sooner Samsung phones will be using carbon fiber that will make it even an irresistible and compeling gadget.

2) iPhone users had plastic up until the iPhone 3GS. So don't know what you're talking about "swallowing pride".
My wife has a 3Gs. The back shell is plastic. Hold a plastic Samsung in your hand and a 3Gs in your hand and feel the quality.
I don't think reviewers are knocking the plastic, they're complaining about it FEELING cheap. The iPhone 3GS was plastic and didn't feel cheap at all.
And same goes for the Lumias. Polycarbonate. They feel premium. Samsung feels cheap. That's all.

Samsung wants to be what Apple is, and really tries to brainwash everyone into thinking that they are.
If you want an android phone, why not get something that looks nice like Sony or even HTC phones. Sammy's Galaxies all made with the same cheap plastic and same boring design.

Its sad how alot of ppl here in the awesome GSM ARENA are HATERS ,i hav Both S4(sammy) and i5(apple),both GIANTS i LOVE...pros and cons on both GIANTS yes..and still i don understand why some HATIN IMMATURE so called geek bastards here makin unnecessary comments..again people enjoy wat(cellphone) u hav for wats its worth and stop talkin crap bwt wat u don hav..

Most of the Apple fanboys don't like the idea of a budget iphone as it will certainly tarnish iphone's prestige image. But here it comes. Over the years they ridiculed Samsung's plastic build but now they swallowed their pride HAHA!
Apple has been knocked off it's pedestal by Samsung quite a while now and all they do is catch up to the competition. Their boring outdated UI was replaced with IOS 7- an obvious Android copycat. But I'm sure Apple fanboys will still be blind and will still buy anything Apple despite its shortcomings.
