Honestly? The new line-up sounds great, but the new trend of no SD card 'bites', IMHO. For regular use, the 32GB sounds just fine for regular use, but may be tight when it comes to ROM flashing, should things come to that. Of course, it could all be an advertising gimmick, and the user is left with, at most, 25GB after loading up Jelly Bean an' stuff. Dang, just got used to playing with my 64GB micro! Should be interesting as to how the final partitioning is figured out.

I was hoping they would incorporate a dual core intel processor in one of their phones (beats any quad core IMO). They might still do it with the international version of the mini, though, like the razr i.
I'm not so sure about the glossy layer on top of the kevlar. The previous generation droids looked just fine without it, and its very durable and finger print proof.

Anonymous, 24 Jul 2013These phones is nothing compare to moto x, its way much bet... moreInterested in some low light samples and normal lighting. That will do it for me. The SoC used will be very good no need for any spec craze satiation. Keeps the phone nice and affordable. Kevlar body some more.

AnonD-80553, 24 Jul 2013Wrong! 720p on 5" is retina. You have to bring it unpl... moreHe wont get it. He is the type who needs MOAR of everything even if he doesn't find any practical gains from it. The marketeers talk about this placebo effect all the time. The interesting thing is IT SELLS! So he has a point there but not about the practically of its usefulness. Just a huge battery drain nothing more. Oh and more of his money into the coffers of the marketers.

Any device with a 5 inch scre... moreI don't see the joke in my post but your talking BS because all anyone has to do is look at the Note 2 which is 5.5" display with the same 720p resolution with a PPI of 267 and that's already very good for reading anything you see on screen. Don't put more BS like the marketing people trying to sell us this 440 PPI nonsense. It only adds to more power loss and practically no real gain. Your talking about mental placebo effect of hearing 440 PPI and then looking at a lower PPI screen. You are just an example of the "MOAR" everything crowd. BTW I have a bridge to sell to you, am sure you are a good customer!

AnonD-15385, 24 Jul 2013Please tell me you're joking. Any device with a 5 inch scre... moreWrong! 720p on 5" is retina. You have to bring it unpleasantly close to tell it apart from 1080 at this small size. 1080 starts to matter from 5.4-5.5 inches. unless it had been pentile where the limit is about 4.65", but this is not a pentile.

Using a 1080p one this size is wasteful in so many ways and will drain the battery for no reason as well as making CPU and GPU work much harder than needed.

Btw, Maxx refers to the battery. You know, the 3500 mAh one.

Any device with a 5 inch screen, which carries a name with Ultra or Maxx, shouldn't incorporate anything less than 1080p w/ ~441 ppi. Period. 293 ppi isn't going to cut it on a display of that size, and definitely isn't going to be crisp. Just wait and see. GSM Arena will have plenty of screen comparisons in the coming weeks.

I was hoping Moto would bring out their own HW, this makes it very interesting. Just hope it will not be another US only phone. The rest of the world is a pretty large marketplae as well Moto.

Omg, how more boring can their phones get, the oldest company and still behind all their rivals. I had a motorola many years ago, but that was then, unfortunately they still moved forward with all their rivals. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra will completely thrash this in all benchmarks and specs wise and that's going to be my next phone. Time to call it a day Motorola.

Nice, good to see Motorola back making some quality handsets. This one looks pretty nice, if you ask me. If I were in the market for a new phone right now, I'd definitely give the Maxx a long, hard look.
