Android 4.3 unveiled with improved multi-user support

24 July, 2013
It's still Jelly Bean, so no major renovation has been done. Still, there are some great new features.

Nothing new here in Android 4.3 Jellybean, no major improvements. There will still be lag and crap apps on Play Store. Google doesn't review apps manually and developers get their apps live within an hour of submission and processing and because of this there are many crap applications, they could be data tracking malwares. I don't know why but my Android phones takes pictures randomly, stores my location data in 10 kb in the file manager, and 2-3 MB of my data plan vanishes overnight even if the auto sync, background data is off all the time. I feel like i am being tracked or spied on and my battery drains quickly. :( I'm very unhappy with Android OS. Google Maps don't allow me to download a map of entire country for offline usage of Maps and it's pathetic to use. Even without any apps installed on my Android 4.2.1 Jellybean OS, it lags. Project Butter is such a lie! Google need to do something about this stability issue or i am done with Android and I'll move to a restricted OS as i like everything stock on my phone. Using launchers to change the theme just drains battery. Google Play Store has many applications while most of the good applications are paid ones, the free versions are ad supported. Live wallpapers, launchers and themes for different launchers, add on for Whatsapp, etc contribute to 40 percent of applications, while pornographic apps, ad supported apps such some free TV apps contribute to 30 percent of applications in Play Store, duplicate apps of another apps contribute to 10 percent. What Steve Jobs believed about Android is true. It's a crap OS. I'm out of this horrific unrealistic ecosystem as soon as possible. Nokia Lumia 1020, here i come.

AnonD-58567, 25 Jul 2013smoothness is not everything dude... there lot more aspect... more
I didnt sa y smoothness is everything bro.
But it could be more reliable and more user friendly if all those glitches and lags are taken away. Even the Android looks flashy but lacks the class look and stability i saw on WP and iOS. Sometimes the quality of apps and lags just reminds me of Chinese products. I wouldn't be using Android if not for Sony. I expected so much from Android in terms of stability especially when they started the so called "project butter" but it just got me disappointed. I'm aware of all the good stuffs from Android but the lags and school boy Android apps and designs makes me sick. Look at the premium look on iOS and WP. Rich with features but poor in stability. Needless to mention, frequent app crashes.

AnonD-167223, 25 Jul 2013android uses java code,it is far behind in efficiency compa... moreFirst the android uses Dalvik is not the same as JVM, in any case both are writen with C++, you can use native code on Android but is not productive because the heterogenuous hardware on the market.

In WP8 if the application is running on CLR is not running native code is just another VM, faster or not that's debatable.

WP8 has serious restrictions off hardware that's why it can be smoother experience

And with that performance issues has nothing to do with malwares, CLR is exploitable as any other, the reason why not is the same that happened to MAC OS it was secure until last year, no one uses so why I gonna build a malware to attack a restrictive market, when I habe billions of targets on other OS.

It seems to me you are just barely making cohesive sentences from total random things.. :/

there lot more aspect to judge a mobile OS...and android is best OS overall..
i can live with little hiccups here and there(not lags though..it was word of past)...but cannot compromise the features, customaisation and a lot more...

You can be fanboy but not as delusional and idiotic as far as some Android fanboys.. Android doesn't lag..keep shouting about it, at least that will cure your hearts after the experiencing the lag, drag and bug of Android.
For God's sake its not just Xperia Z but HTC and Samsung just to name a few. Most Android fanboys don't even realize their phone is lagging coz they're so used to it. If you really wanna feel the difference compare those OS side by side. Android can be more rich with more features, customizations and multitasking at its best but it shows no class in stability and smoothness. Hoping for massive changes in Key Lime Pie.

Anonym, 25 Jul 2013Care to elaborate that with actual facts?android uses java code,it is far behind in efficiency compared to native c++ used in wp8(i don't know about ios)....besides java code is compiled using JVM,which is slower compared to the CLR in wp8,..so yeah, there is a solid reason why android is the only os on mobiles right now which needs to use quad core...

Android malware is unfortunately systemic and not a problem that can be patched, unless overnight it is rewritten, and controls put in place, with secure access like ios and wp8, which will probably not happen, as it would be an admission that Google was wrong.

"Wi-Fi can be kept on at all times to determine your position, even when you toggle it off" - What does it mean? Why should my position be available even if I have switched off my Wi-Fi? Is it not violation of our privacy? Guys, please correct me if I have misunderstood this.
