Galaxy Nexus have locked bootloader too.
The most phones in the world have locked bootloader, but Samsung devices have a unofficial flashes counter.
LG Nexus 4 is incredible device and I be waiting for next LG Nexus. It's better than Samsungs Nexus.

I made the mistake of purchasing the Optimus L9...locked bootloader and all. I wanted to put CyanogenMod 10.2 on it and have someting similar to a Nexus device with the benefit of expandable memory.
Alas...LG has not made it easy. They have locked up this phone very tightly. The only way so far to unlock the bootloader is by installing a kdz meant for the P760 variant and following some complicated and lenghthy steps. Which was successful for a certain batch released last year. Newer models with JB 4.1.2 already installed have supposedly fixed this loophole.
LG and T-Mobile of course pass the hot potato and do not want to provide customers this information claiming that it is done to avoid customers voiding their warranties. I paid for this phone and if I want to void the warranty then it is my decision.
These companies are pushing customers to buy the Nexus if they want the pure Google experience. I love the Nexus line with the exception of the lack of expandable memory and replaceable battery. We should be given freedom to do what we want with our devices....isn't open source about freedom?

EVleaks was the one who originally speculated that could be the nexus 5. His retraction is saying that it is not the nexus 5. You all have it backwards.

Hopefully they will brand the nexus 6 with Sony and lifeproof a phone with a thinner 5 inch bevel. Destructive combo is allI can say Kit Kat running on Sonys new flagship would be enough right then and there

Google should listen to the SD complaints. Once they confirm the Nexus 5 won't have expansion, I guess I can go ahead and get the Note 3.
I know they'd prefer I store everything in the cloud so the data can be mined for potential advertising information, but that just isn't feasible with carrier data caps and regions without LTE. I'd prefer pure Android but when it comes down to it, I'll choose expansion.

i wish next nexus have micro sd slot or higher memory. And if doing so have update receiving problem then provide file manager app in playstore.

UGH!! I love Nexus but cant stand LG..My craptastic N4 had the worse camera,battery life,crappy viewing angles/color compared to my GN and the back glass cracked from over heating..I sold it and went back to my Galaxy Nexus..CMON GOOGLE!!

i said before. camera position is same with which we saw. evleaks made a big mistake.
