Simply why? A New mobile OS that able to run android apps but not a android phone. And mainly it still needs peoples to develop it own OS apps. Last it cost around 500 bucks!?!?!?. R u serious about this? Not to mention the spec are mid-range and it's ( NEW )to everybody.

The specs and price are almost identical to Galaxy S4 mini (same screen resolution, same processor, same camera resolution; 1.0GB vs 1.5GB RAM). In terms of value for money it has competitive hardware.

Now hopefully the OS lives up to the rumours.

Well, as same as Apple products, i will not want that 10% in stability for a the tone of money involved in changing. And why might i choose this overpriced system when 2014 sounds like true octa core processors, and x64 bits apps. If you wanna start fresh as a new OS, you must start with lower prices.

According to the Jolla website 399€ is including VAT (24%), so the price is very competitive. The specs are similar to most good mid-range phones around that price mark.

I'm already waiting for Jolla II. Once the problems in the first model are ironed out and the specs ramped up a bit (4-core, 2GB, 12mpx, 720p) it will be a very nice phone to buy.

That price may be the taxes(24%) included recommended retail price in Finland. Or in other words, it's in line with other devices with similar hardware which is surprising, considering Jolla's size and expected volume.

This phone has no chance especially with that outdated resolution. Should be at least 720p. And I wonder who is the hardware manufacturer.

                      Looking forward to this phone.
But some of the specs would mean i'll be stepping down from my boring old xperia T
Screen resolution is low, cam doens't have much mp (quality uncertain).
I wonder if you get good quality earphones in the box

And yea i hope the launch and tablet next year

If this becomes true Nokia successor I will support it over Elop's bastardized Nokia. But need more info about the phone.

Frankly, the visual effects and the smoothness of the system are appealing... I like it better than my android... I'd like to give it a try :)

I hope it takes off and that the platform gains enough traction to be taken seriously in the market. However that pricing is highly uncompetitive and will make market penetration a struggle in the first attempt to reach commercial availability. People could compare this to a Nexus 5, which would eventually run jolla, and find it hard to justify the asking price for this model. Good luck with the project Sailfish.
