    Quite stupid. We have 1920x1080 monitors for PC, where we have enough CPU and graphic power, and also enough energy. Why would somebody need a resolution higher that what he can see? Just to consume energy? To have higher lag? Higher resolution need higher CPU/GPU;

    This is just marketing like 64bit ifone 5.

    Only few GPUs can play games on more than 1080p resolution. And you need 150-200W power for that. that is for real games not angry birds. What is the point of having 3840x2160 resolution when the hardware cannot use it? Angry birds looks the same on 320x240 resolution.

    I would take a 50" HD ready plasma over this display, for games and movies any day.

      AnonD-70018, 24 Oct 2013Honestly, that sounds more like a faulty screen than anythingHe is very near sighted and can focus on very short distances, enabling him to see details that is impossible for the average eye. Being near sighted has some amazing advantages, which proven in animal kingdom as well, some animals are extremely near sighted because it benefits their way of living.

              Someone, 23 Oct 2013if 1920X1080 is 2k, then 4K should be 2*1920*1080. 2-1920 ... more4k means 4 times the resolution of a 1080p display. U will need 4 FullHD TVs sticking in 2x2 formation to make a 4k display

                    Someone, 23 Oct 2013if 1920X1080 is 2k, then 4K should be 2*1920*1080. 2-1920 ... more2K means that the long side of the screen is equal to about 2000p (i.e. 1920p). 4K means that long side of the screen is equal to ~4000, i.e. 1920*2=3840p. I would like to emphasise that it (i.e. the resolution of 4K or 2K) is a matter of the amount of pixels in the long side of screen, not in the area. In respect of the area of the screen the 4K resolution screen has 4 times more pixels than 2K resolution screen. It is confusing but it is true. Sorry about my english :)

                          AnonD-44928, 23 Oct 2013I'm sorry that you so sorely misunderstand modern technolog... moreYes they now have decent screens that work outdoors,that was folk big bugbear..Then it is poor cameras in lowlight and so on but the biggest complaint is battery life...It has not changed in over 10 years,,my S/E T68 had a LI PO battery in 2002 and its still best battery tech today.

                          We have increased tech in all areas bar battery..This new silicon tech should give mobile gasdgets a much needed boost.

                          As for flexible screens I like the rolled up idea but only seen Philips do one in monochrome only.Then a smartfone can have a small screen to show all basic info then roll out for bigger screen for gaming/tv/web browsing.
