how can this be considered "mini"? When I got my phone 2 years ago, the 4.3" display was one of the largest out at the time, and people laughed at me for my huge phone. Now my contract is up and I want a more compact phone and almost everything out that isnt total shit is HUGE and even this "mini" phone is as big as my old one; although due to bezels being the same size and also the home buttons on the screen instead of capacitive touch buttons, there is actually LESS usable screen real estate on this 4.3" than my 2 year old phone.

4" is not an ideal size, for me it's 4.5" except for the Lumia series with 4.5" but overall phone size are too big as NOKIA LOVE HUGE BEZELS that much, but 4.5 with tiny bezels just like the G2 or Razr M is ideal.

However only as an example I saw the DROID RAZR M with a 4,3" screen and a very thin bezel, so at the end it is about how well the phone is designed, so the dimensions are right. But here comes the problem. Who can define right dimensions? As I see people simply love big phones. END. Now as a reply to your comment, I think the xperia Z1 mini is a great phone because I simply do not see any competitors in this size category. I would really like to know about the 4,7" phones you are mentioning, assuming their external dimensions are similar to the Z1S. At the beginning I even doubted about the specs of the Z1S but they seem possible/real since the Z1f was announced in Japan. Samsung introduced the mini versions of its high end phones but only as a gimmick. I think the mini - name was linked more to the poor hardware. However following your comment I would really take a closer look at the end design / size if the Z1 mini (Z1S) should become my next phone. Greetings.

Ahh this is quite nice. Although I'm already happy with my Z1 now, 5in is good enough for me, being 6"5' and all. 4.3in would be truly a mini for me. :)

A 4.3 inch can be fitted to a phone just as big as the iphone, like the razr i demonstrated. I'm not sure being water and dust proof makes it worth increasing the size so much.

I tried the Z1 in a Sony Store and here are some of my findings: camera is great, very responsive, the build is excellent, water/dust resistant is reassuring for a high end device. Cons- the width of 72+mm is giving me a hard time to operate one-handidly(5" devices should not be that hard to operate just like the S4 and G2,the sharp angular corners dig into my palm adding to the difficulty of using. If Sony listen to us and release the Z1s, the downsized Z1 with 4.3" then all of the Cons above will be compensated since it is a relatively smaller device and should be comfortable to use. PLEASE SONY, don't delay the release of Z1s,it will crash the iphone 5s in any benchmarks. I WAS DISAPPOINTED that Sony didn't release the ZR worldwide including SG, that is a great device in midrange category.

This information is wrong. It's not a true super mini, for despite having a 4.3" screen it has the size of a phone with a 4.7" screen, therefore not being a mini at all, and not being super either as there are other phones with 4.7" screen with similar specs
