The chart is OS to OS. Ok fine. iOS market share is slipping because? Many and many more cheap manufacturers are adapting because it is FREE. That's a fact. You should compare how many people uses the iphone, s4, xperia, htc one, and let the number speaks. Saying iOS is less used is subjective because it used only be one manufacturer.
Given that Apple has more than 10% of the market share in the chart, i think it's still on top, because if you breakdown that 80% there won't be anyone surpassing the Apple.
Android is widely use because it is free and adapted by several and some cheap manufacturer.
Apple IOS is one man standing.
If i were a developer, I would think, if i write an very good app for ios i am sure it can be downloaded by millions of iphones use
if i right an app for an android, it may not be sure if it will run on a 20$ android phone. you get my point?
it is unjust to conclude this way. really.
break it down per brand model like s4, 5s, htc one, xpria z were sold. And that's the time we can conclude objectively.
the way you conclude the article is too way subjective. You can't conclude because they are not the same. Or atleast include that 10% iphone is just what one or two models only. and the 80% is what about 300 models? Bla!

as i think in 2015 android down to 60%-70%- because seriously there is noting much new now about it. iOS may be 10-20% - depending on apple iphone 6. and the INOVATION they say windows phone 10%-20% - depending upon what ms does to nokia and how much ms pump money in it. blackbery-dead for good 0% or tends to zero.

One of the cool things of Android is that it gives you options. You can get a mid range android phone for $90 - $100. With different manufacturers come different options, you can have a small screen, an average scree or a very big one. You can get waterproof phones, aluminium, plastic or glass, the choice is yours. Yiu can get amoled screens , tft, bravia engines etc. The camera can go from 5mp to 20mp (may be higher). With all these OPTIONS why wouldn't Android dominate the market?

Not the cheap phones are problem for Nokia, Sony , HTC,...and so on.
Samsung produce also expensive phones like S4 or Note3(more expensive than iphone5s) . And each one of them outsell all the models of Nokia, Sony , HTC,...and so on, combined.

Not sure how people are confused. This is about Operation Systems. Android vs iOS vs Win. Not about individual models. Its Apples issue for not making more models or licensing their iOS out. Its bad enough that Apple likes to include their iPods in overall sales numbers because they use the iOS software. Go figure...
