Anonymous, 15 Nov 2013yea, the same Home button design Samsung puts on all of the... moreHaha. That's right. Samsung is just as bad. Actually, worse, because the plastic coating on the Samsung button wears through with heavy use. Never seen that happen on someone's iphone.

In my opinion, mechanical push buttons on the front of high end phones are outdated, regardless of the brand.

Go take a look at the LG G2 or the HTC Butterfly-S. The front of the phone just looks so much sleeker without a button on front. Especially the HTC Butterfly-S with the slight curve down the front has near the edges. Right now I think that phone has the best style and feel in your hand of any phone on the market.

People who complain about all the phones being square bricks should check out the Butterfly-S.

Apple's hardware is still the best designed. It needs a bigger screen and a better keyboard option, but overall it's still a great phone.

just because people in the developing world are buying $100 smartphones, all running Android, doesn't mean that Apple is doing something wrong. It's just not their market.

Keep in mind that most things they're saying here is in line with what other market reporting firms have reported in the past 3 months.

Nokia shareholder's have got to see that Elop's decision to go with WP is hurting the company. They'd have far better sales with Android or even their own Asha 1.0 platform on the Lumia line.

There's a reason they aren't, because if those os' were on the Lumia everyone would see what a complete idiot Elop is for matching the Lumia with WP8.

As for Apple? Evolve or die. Their hardware needs a complete makeover. Start by getting rid of that 8 year old home button design.

Gartner has rarely got anything correct with their economic assessments or reporting. They are chronically negative on everything.

            LG smartphone sales: 12.0m
            Sony smartphone sales: 9.7m

You see? not so much gap, also keep in mind that Nexus phones from LG helped them, else LG was under Sony in the chart.

Once again Android and Samsung are on top. Why am I not surprised. Apple needs to step up their game. Samsung needs to freshen up Touchwiz. Sony needs to improve their battery life.

I'm using a wp and i'm having no problem with it. Games and apps might be limited compared to android and ios but necessary apps that you NEED are available then. I am impressed with its uniqueness and i see a huge potential with this growing os.

IOS to me is good OS, if Apple keep on producing 1 iphone model per year, I can feel their sale is going to dwindle. Customer don't have a choice. There are loads of customer who want bigger screen phone so they look elsewhere. Those who buy IPHONE are either they like the OS or they are forced to love the OS. I don't believe there is such thing as premium built phones. The most important this is how smooth the OS is. People nowadays only look at how fast the phone boots, downloading speed and of course ram and processor. Usually a so call premium built phone are those built from aluminium, that's what the general public says, but they failed to think that aluminium scratches easily. So apple, if you want to stay attractive, give your customer choices. You cannot be thinking just like during your hey days in 2007. This is 2013, remember that. I myself buys between 6-7 smartphones per year. I am now aiming for BLACKBERRY Z30 & LUMIA 1520 which I will be getting because of the screensize. Your new Iphone is way too small for me, I cant type email as fast as IN my SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8.0. Think about it apple.
