After spending the day with the new 4.4 kitkat for HTC One, I can share my observations:

Phone is significantly faster now. Especially gaming. Running much smoother.

Purple tint issue persists. It seems like improved a bit, but I can not be sure. It may be a placebo effect.

The balance between left and right speakers are better established. Some people have reported bottom speaker was louder than the top one, which I have observed myself too, and now this issue seems to be resolved.

Flashplayer is dead now! This was a big shock for me. Luckily there is a workaround now to use flashplayer in 4.4 with dolphin browser which works fine, but it is not available for stock browser or firefox anymore due to the changed api.

Also there are additions came with sense 5.5, information about which can be obtained from htc one max articles all over the web.

By the way, there are no panaroma+ or dual capture modes in camera app.

Looks like HTC is concentrating only on the European countries and America, forgetting about the rest of the world. South Africa is till on android 4.2.2 without any word from HTC South Africa and any carrier of when we will be bumped up to at least 4.3.

This all sounds fantastic, but in South Africa we have not received the Jellybean 4.3 update yet. Any news for those of us here at the tip of Africa. CT. SA.

Being an HTC user I must admit tht HTC has learned it's mistakes frm past. Now they r much ahead in updates with their rivals such as crappy Samsung..

Actually, LG also make TV's and many other home appliances just like samsung does, yet their G2 has just got KitKat. Samsung are lagging behind, face the fact and accept it.

And what about their Ex-flagship One X ? Or it's not an HTC product anymore?
