New technology built with some reasons.

lilgiggs, 10 Dec 2013Triple sim configuration and FM radio. Not bad at allThat caught my eye too - support for 3 SIMs is interesting but not sure if there's a big enough need for 3 SIM phones. Guess we'll all know once a manufacturer offers it in a phone.

In fairness to Apple, nearly all the applications are still 32bit (including their own), so you don't see any of the benefit of the architecture except where the OS can take advantage of the 64 bit instructions and bus.

Regardless, whatever perceived advantage Apple had will be crushed since this chip will be inexpensive, allowing manufacturers to incorporate in their mid-range to low-end, low cost phones. This will put more pricing pressure on Apple. They can either continue what they're currently doing (selling their phones at silly premiums) and lose market share or adjust and battle back.

64-bit doesn't increase central processing speed, it only allows applications to access huge amount of RAM (4GB and up), in phones is rendered useless since we do encode blu rays while playing Crysis.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2013Interesting to know that Qualcomm is a follower, not a leader.I agree Apple is the first to introduce 64 bit for smartphone but 64 bit was not invented by Apple. First do some research before posting.

you guys are pathetic .. stop crying over 64 bit look beyond that
                        you will see these things

                        - Cortex A53 ( faster than a cortex A9 , so no more cheap cortex a7 finally they die now)

Arm v8 (New instruction set , future games will only be arm v8 compatible they will not even install on current gen arm v7a )

                        4g LTE ( under 150 $ phones)

And adreno 306 should be an ok upgrade over adreno 305

all this for 150 $ instead of celebrating you guys are fighting...

What good does this even bring if it only increases battery usage? Plus, android OS. Has still a long way to go to improve their os. Their google play services use a lot of power to run. Plus, There's no app that can run on the old quad core version.

oh hang on a minute, this was one of apples key selling points for the iphone 5s, to justify its so called premium tag, along with the gimmicky fingerprint reader, yet more proof that the apple product is MASSIVELY over inflated on its prices and that the sheeple will buy anything as long as it has a fruit on the back lol. this just makes me ROTFLMAO.
