With the huge bailout and then the 7billion dollar purchase of nokias mobile division ms did infact save the company from collapse. Nokias unwillingness to move away from symbian when everyone else was developing new os or joining to new os led them to their knees. A fact which showed them surrender their market share as world leaders owning way over 60% to something like less then 20% in a year. And continue to decline so much that they didnot even have a double figure % of the market at one point down the line. Who knows what will happen after their microsoft deal ends. They will prob get a new deal with them but if not it would be suicide to turm their backs on anyone.
