Firstly the phone is new, secondly the phone is priced like that because its supposed to be. An Expensive phone mark identity is pricing. People who don't want an expensive shouldn't get one at all, because everything has a price to pay. Once a new model is released this phone's price will drop. Its Common sense, which isn't very common these days..

Nobody is asking you to buy it. There are phones out there in the market, you dont buy all of them, right? You buy what you like. And trust me, People WILL like this kind of performance in this size.

As a network engineer, I use command line interface to manage devices. In emergency situations a phone with qwerty keyboard has saved a lot of customers.

Sony should have a pro version with a keyboard like the mini pro. Mini pro was bit too small for my liking but the keyboard a definite bonus.

If you need a way more compact device, Z1 Compact is right here for you and the only flagship-grade. All other competition has worse spec'd mini phones. Of course Z1 Compact is hardly bang-for-a-buck, but it's one of the company's flagship devices and especially in a preorder offer which usually are not so attractive.

So I am actually paying 25-75euro more than the Z1 for:
1.smaller screen (5 inch compared to the 4.3)
2.less resolution (1080p compared to the 720p)
3.lower ppi (441ppi compared to 341ppi)
4.less battery life (3000mah compared to the 2300mah)
Sony will have to put drugs in my water
in order for me to buy it X_x

Way to overestimate the price of that handsfree, it costs little over half of that. So the discount is no better than in france actually... And there you can use that save and shop around for any handsfree you might like (or get that archos smartwatch).
While the smartwatch pretty much costs the list-price, so that it quite a good deal. Some could argue that more people uses bluetooth handsfrees than smartwatches, but the included handsfree isnt a compact model, so its note the common type. And it has little street value, while the smart watch actually still after this years CES seems as capable as most so you could sell it, buy that same handsfree ans still get a discount on the purchse, if you are krass.

This will be my first upgrade from the xperia x10a/convert to x10i in three years.... Just took off the factory screen protector (that i never knew about) and installed a new battery last week... May go another threeyyears...Shhhh.

Philippines, Sony compact will be priced at 22-24php according to technostorm. Cheaper than z, z1 and zr. Expected to be released on q2.
But some stores will sell it at lower price, just talk to the manager for discount.I've done it with the sp I bought for my kids.

AnonD-150047, 10 Jan 2014I think what he really mean ie. like when ones watch a movi... morewell you wouldn't hold the screen while you're watchin right? actually it's much better to an edge to edge handset like the moto razri, even you have a big screen it's not hard to grasp.
