I cant really understand the need for a second camera unless one is 3D, but no point having a 3D camera if the screen is not 3D compatable.

This phone needs to improve camera. Apart from that it's perfect device. Have been using my one since last April. Very satisfied.

I know many will say it's not needed but again the same situation: HTC will release a phone with the Snapdragon 800, while all the others will have the 805. Not good for HTC, even if this SoC isn't necessary.

Maybe htc realised that the ultrapixel cam was too low resolution for daylight photo, and they added a normal camera for daylight photo on top of the ultrapixel one for low light conditions.

Apart from that... moreyou really think it is such a big loss? its not at all. htc one max already doesnt have it and the speakers are even better than on htc one and the audio output is the same. read some reviews. one max still has built in amplifiers even more powerfull. the beats audio logo was...just a logo and an EQ. They still put the same tech inside but without the logo.

Isn't the aim of having two cameras to allow the phone to focus images after the shot has been taken?

I think there is not enough space for second camera. it is to close to the edge of the phone and it is curved in that place. I think it is a fingerprint sensor.

I guess it's a fingerprint sensor up there. Apart from that, just wondering what kind of compensation they can give after beats audio is not present anymore!
