Read up the anandtech review. It's also named a17 because it will match a15 with a lower power consumption.

Awesome. I want a cheap, mid-range processor with LTE. And this is exactly that. Why would you want/need a Snapdragon 805? I certainly don't want to spend extra money on benchmark scores. For real life applications there is no difference between two processors with 30k resp. 40k points in a benchmark. It's all just a game now a days...

Still a complete an utter fail. Qualcomm will utterly destroy this with it's s800 and s805 and later in the year with it's s810 chip.

Mediatek chips are a lot better than some people think. You should really watch some power consumption comparisons. As well as watch it's performance comparisons after running a few benchmarks.
This looks to be good at least on paper so far.

a-17 are mid range. Why not use two a-57 cores instead of 8 a-17?

HeavyRazzer, 11 Feb 2014Look here: http://www.arm.com/products/processors/cortex-a... moreEven the Cortex A12 and Cortex A15 are "architecturally aligned" with Cortex A7. It's just another way of saying that they support big.LITTLE.
