Anonymous, 15 Feb 2014#1 - Gold, really? #2 - The HTC logo on the front is a was... moreYeah, the huge blank band between the screen and the bottom speaker just for the HTC log is dumb. Either it should be used for capacitive buttons so the screen space can be better usef for other things (best solution) or it should not be there so the phone can be smaller (or the screen bigger). It's the worst possible solution.

Strangely the leak from three days ago does not look the same and does not have the wasted space. The back is also a little different, with the two LEDs for the flash being separate rather than together.

                Camera or Iris scanner?

I have been wondering why anyone would use a dual camera setup in shit way. they are angled the wrong way for 3d, or later refocus.

And HTC put the fingerprint scanner on the back.

So ugly, gigantic bezels again and looks just like the first One.. Also, it's barely a minor update. The previous renders that showed edge to edge screen showed some hope, but this looks like a 5 year old phone.

i hope it will have removable battery.
i'll happily trade aluminium body for polycarbonate (a.k.a. plastic) if I could get a removable battery on this device.

It is unfortunate that HTC did not retain the aluminium finish on this M8 which presumably will be their flagship 2014 device. That just leaves Sony, Huawei and maybe the Samsung S5 sporting those type of finishes. Obviously the global metals market has soared and so manufacturers cannot continue selling at last year's price point with metal. The same fate has occured with dedicated compact cameras where even flagships are now based on plastic and not high grade materials.

it looks like R2D2 from Star Wars...and a little fat, may be due to a bigger battery. We could use a side picture. I hope the camera keeps the low-light superiority but with more MP.

I was very curious about this phone, was planning to change my One for this but its soooo ugly! I do not like the front cuz they put the sensor and the cam next to each other and its seems the upper speaker is smaller than the bottom one and its not even in the middle. And the HTC logo is waste of space.. I would put it on the speaker or in the corner somewhere, but not there.
I only "hate" my One cuz the battery... I would rather remake/upgrade the One with 3000+ battery, Snapdragon 800 and 3 gig ram same design than making this... or battery and cam change and its great..tooo bad.

                                        #1 - Gold, really?
#2 - The HTC logo on the front is a waste of space for the added screen size since the buttons now move on screen. Make the logo functional and move the buttons back down to either size if the logo must stay.

I was 99% on moving to the M8 but with each new leak I am re-thinking the S5 which will hit the market first.
