To put it into terms everyone will understand; each mobile OS at least copied (or replicated) something from another OS.
webOS, Symbian, Blackberry, Maemo, iOS, Android; these are most of the common OS's. webOS did introduce a lot of features, but due to poor support it didn't take off.

Also can't copy android if Symbian ^3 was doing it first.
