Preference is preference and that is fine.
But overall all upgrade and tech advantage Samsung still has the advantage. Does not run circles, but clear advantage still.
Yes Z2 has better water proofing, but S5 has water proofing none the less while having removable back/battery and an Amoled.

i was looking at the pictures of this phone thoroughly, and the shape and style of this phone is the same with my vega iron..most probably, sony was looking for designs from other phone companies that wasn't rigged released internationally.. great copying sony...lol

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2014This is an excellent phone. Wish Sony can bring out an addi... moreyou don't need for a stylus, Z2 supports pen/pencil recognition just like Xperia Z Ultra does. all you need to do is to find an atleast 1mm pointed object (e.g pen,key,coin) and you're good to go :)

damn it i like big screen of this phone and design isn't bad but
when you buy a nexus phone you can't use anything else ! its amazing ! i LOVE my nexus 4 but wish it had just a big screen :)
waiting till nexus 5 (2015) comes ! wish it has a bigger screen:) but anyway nexus is amazing:D also price is amazing !

Its a great phone and i want it.. But i hope sony will make the successor of xperia ray. For me, it is still the most beautiful phone that i ever had (the gold color). I have sony's flagships but im stuck with my ray for my daily use cause im inlove with its beauty. But as time goes i can feel that its need to be replace cause it becomes outdated.. SO PLEASE SONY....PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER RAY... A midranger ray will do.. Thanks.. :-)

Awesome device, I purchased Z1 one month ago & really happy with it but this Z2 made me hate myself for rushing things, I wish I waited for this Z2

i had xperia z the speaker... moreMy Z is perfect and has no problems like yours.
I have noticed the battery life has gone down a little going to 4.3 but its still a cracking cutting edge phone a year later!

the lack of onboard storage is annoying from Google but you can still add apps to sd by downloading APP2SD app and that should free up some space. Its still no biggy though and I applaud Sony with sticking to their guns with the style and spec. I'll be interested to see how the snapdragoon 801 will perform.
Just one question I was wondering, will they bring out a Z2 compact later in the year? They should at least wait til xmas before releasing compact version the Z1 compact is an awesome phone and phone of the year in my eyes IMO.

The lens is a disappointment. Apple (Using Sony's sensor) is supposedly coming up with w 24 f/1.8 lense, and even the Lenovo K900 has had a f/1.8 lens for a year now (also using Sony's sensor).
Otherwise, a really nice phone.
