Whenever you're offered something for free, you should expect your data's going to be sold.
The issue with it is - your data is no longer yours. You don't really have any control over it any more. A lot of EULA's will state that you lose rights to any information provided.
If you completely trust big business (and, government is basically a business) then it's not a problem.
However, the government doesn't exist to make people's lives better. They can just sell your information to the highest bidder - just likely any other company will (particularly when you've just signed away your rights).
What's the problem with that? Well, here's an example.
Let's say you look up pornography on a website - accidental or not. Suddenly, any major corporation can find out about it. Do you spend too much time on facebook? Every employer knows about it now.
It might come up in a court case. You're open to anything.
Nothing is ever 'free'. It comes at a cost, either to the people offering the service, or to you.
If you're using 'free' online services, it's the cost you pay - loss of privacy.
You might not care, which is your choice - and that certainly opens up a lot of options for you.
But if you do, you'd like to have options.
This is, uhm.. one of them, I guess. It's a lot of money for a phone though.

Being open gives a huge advantage. Look at Windows vs Mac. Same thing applies to iOS and Android.

Recently a director of Google was reported (even by this website) that Android was designed to be open and security was not a main focus.

In terms of BB10.2, please tell me where is the lack of so called needed features - where?
BB 10.2 is a far better system than open Android where everyone can see under your underwear.
Lets be real about this - Android will never be secure, as is now as admitted by Google itself recently.
WE wont use anything but BB because of security.

Haha, it made my day if someone would really buy something like this and believe it was safe. Afterall, it was made in USA where NSA is located.

this is a stupid idea.
if you are buying this, it means you have something to hid. all the more the government or some other entity gets perked up to spy on you.
since only a few people will be buying it, the targets become way clearer to identify.
