Anonymous, 13 Apr 2014We are not living in 2009 my friend. Not having MMS up unti... moreListen, my friend (NOT!), MMS was not a new thing in 2007 as you are trying to suggest. It was already a huge thing in 2008, which means it was pretty big in 2007.
Also, in 2013, Internet connections from the phone were very widespread, so if you want to send a picture or whatever to someone, there were more than one ways to do it.
What pipo said is 100% true.
PS:
I have never used MMS for anything other than testing how MMS works.

Jolla phone is just starting out on a difficult road and is improving slowly,
with a swipe UI thats different from the rest,it takes time for OS to mature,
and a small dedicated team good luck to Jolla, if anyone does not like the
phone go elsewhere and let those who do enjoy their phone.

Come on, even Firefox OS which seems already dead released 1.1 update to support MMS in 2013.

To all those posters with demeaning comments about MMS on Jolla phones.
Iphone released jan. 2007: No MMS
iPhone 3G released june 2008: no MMS
iPhone 3GS released June 2009: no MMS initially, added later in june.
Jolla Phone released late december 2013: No MMS initially, added mid-april 2014
It took apple more than 2 years and 3 models to finally produce MMS. These guys needed less then 5 months after their 1st product release to produce MMS. Not to mention they have less developers inhouse and a LOT less money.
From what I'm seeing the "industry" is using the wrong people to develop mobile tech! No matter if punters see this tech as old-skool (e.g. MMS) or new.
It's clear to me that there are some really talented people at work at Jolla.

AnonD-39775, 12 Apr 2014this brand is already D.O.A.You obviously know nothing about the people or community behind Jolla. They are also responsible for the breakthrough in software that allowed Ubuntu phones to be possible as well.
They were also testing facial recognition for video pausing on the Nokia N900 in 2010. 3 years before Samsung and I, as I end user got to beta test it. (There is a reason Samsung just signed a new FIVE YEAR deal for patent licensing from Nokia before the Microsoft acquisition. Smart move.)
A third party webcat browser for Jolla has also crushed all android and ios devices posting marks just barely below but pretty much on par with the best Intel icore5 laptops.
It is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. Forbes called it the Ferrari of smartphones a faster and more powerful operating system than anything out there.
Vid Dock and Steam support are also theoretically possible and it will be done by the community. A double wide pc graphics card in a Vid Dock with Steam is a more powerful gaming device than PS4 or XB1 only on Jolla.
Only the brave sailors need to apply. Not everyone can handle a Ferrari.

@yeah it's almost as if they thought "seriously, who uses MMS nowadays?" and then had lots of 'user feedback' and said "sure doods, it's your money!"

I had recently an opportunity to hold a Jolla telephone unit in my hands, play with it for a moment, and make a call. I have to admit that this mobile phone ROCKS!! Did you ever saw this phone yourself??

Presently Android and Ios are developed os for smartphones.
And jolla will have a tough time against them.
