I had updated my lumia 625 to 8.1..
The procedure is quite simple.
First download the 'preview for devloper' from store.
Register the preview for devloper
Once u have registered.... Followed the steps..
Go to setting.
Phones updates
Chek for updates...

hey friends!!i just updated my l625 in 8.1 via developer preview.will it causes any harm when i updated my devise with the official version of 8.1(cyan)??& when the update will available in India??plz help me out...thanks a lot.

Then go to settings -phone update-chek for update ,after you will receive the update,you can download it through mobile data or wifi, And also note that the first update you will be recive is not 8.1 update, first u you will be recive a small update,this update is make easly to install 8.1,after download the first update again you have to search for new update then you will be revived 8.1 update and instal it and enjoy
