Damn, I was expecting 2GB of RAM! Also the bigger screen shouldn't make the phone's total size bigger, otherwise it would be fail!

good htc. cameras are excellent for mini version.4.5" screen is enough for mini type(bigger is not mini version). cpu is good for running every programs and games with no delay.(1.7ghz dual are enough, as sony or Samsung fans say about s4 mini,mega,sp or..../but why quad 1.4 is not?it's clear somebody like to destroy htc face!!!). 1G of ram is good because kitkat doesn't occupy ram as its lower versions.and htc sense is the best UI in android gadget,and works properly with lower specs in compare to other rivals. good htc.

At least not on the original HTC One Mini which I happen to own. Simultaneously open Google Navigation, Pandora and watch one of those apps crash as soon as a text or phone call come in. Happens to me almost every time on a road trip. 1gb of RAM is just not adequate.
If this were priced as a budget or even mid-ranger I wouldn't be so harsh in my critique. But its priced to be a mini-flagship and the specs/performance should live up to that price bracket. They don't, end of story.

Why do they always lower the quality for the "mini" phones? I like the smaller phone size but want the big specs.

The specs are fine, but I would've liked the UltraPixel feature and am a bit worried about the size of this new 'mini' as it will have a bigger display, so not sure if it will be comfortable to use with one hand.

Despite being a mini doesn't mean they have to water down the specs so much. Will be good to at least have a mini with a Quadcore SD600, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB internal plus SD Card slot, 13MP rear and 5MP front cams, a 4.5 or 4.7" 1080P screen with about a 75% screen to bezel ratio, slim down BoomSound speakers, no logo bar or bar greatly minimized, multimode HSPA+/LTE bands and 2500+mAh removable battery. To be less than 135mm tall and come in a myriads of colors with no exclusivity anything to any carrier.
