Breakdown by country? Alright, first of all Europe is NOT a country. Second, they could have done better by finding out how many were sold in South Korea no matter how small the percentage is as this is their home country and where the phone first launched. And last, the author should not have commented on the comparison with the sales in US. The US has more people and therefore sales would be naturally higher even with a lot of competition.

AnonD-134497, 23 Apr 2014Still not impressive. Remember, 125 countries vs only 60 co... moreNo, not cheaper at launch, at least not in many developing economies, here in South Africa I got my GS4 32GB Exynos Octa for R8450 ($845) on launch day, the GS5 32GB Exynos Octa is R9800 ($980), is that cheaper? Not at all.

It hasn't been a month yet since S5 arrived yet its already past the 8million mark, that is impressive, another 2weeks and it should be at around 12million.

I also think there was a couple things Samsung could have done better.

However as far as what it has goes and some of the more underlining changes it's about the best there is.
And as an upgrade from it's predecessor "S4" it's a larger update in comparison to others like Z2, M8, 5S, and so forth.

On the other side I would have to say the biggest surprise was that Samsung stuck to 2GB ram. Not that it really effects the phone that bad, but still.
I mean they have had 3GB for a bit now, any phone using 3GB is probably using a Samsung chip, and they almost have 4GB released. Does not make sense.

Another thing is amazing stereo speakers. They have done it in the past. The Omnia HD was about the best speaker phone for a while. And now it's becoming more popular. Better yet quad speaker if implemented properly. Nokia did it, but they seemed slightly muffled. As long as it can be very loud and still hit crystal clear high contrasted notes.

One other thing. Not only does everyone use their ram chips, but they use Samsung memory chips as well. Why are they not releasing 64GB version? And since they are the leaders of memory chips they could easily afford to be bad A**es and just make the 32GB the base version. Or be truly amazing and just make 64GB version base and come out with the 128GB version they could have already.

Especially compared to one Iphone as opposed to Galaxy fighting every other Droid?
Plus initially a lot of people hated the S5 and dogged the living heck out of it giving it bad name.

On a side note, I love how that graph implies Europe is a 'country'.

And it's horribly made. Other than that I think the SGS5 exceeded Samsung's short-term sales expectations.

Can anyone please tell me what difference anyone is going to see betwen 1080 and 2K, let alone 4K, on a circa 5 inch screen? I won't hold my breath waiting. Maybe at 24 inches+ but that would be a little bit big to use in a phone!

In one week, S5 sold enough to account for all the android phones sold do far. That's compared to months and years of phones sold altogether.
