It's gonna be fun when Samsung ditches Android

http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2014/06/02/the-master-plan-why-samsung-is-ditching-android/

Which arguments will the fanboys maintain, and which will they conveniently leave behind? Do they suddenly say Android is no good, cos they're loyal to Samsung? Is open source suddenly bad? Cos Tizen ain't open source

https://developer.tizen.org/forums/sdk-ide/tizen-sdk-licensing-makes-whole-tizen-not-open-source

It's going to be fun to watch that's for sure.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014GS5 owners can determine if the device they've been using i... moreIt doesnt have a bearing on how the device works, but some devices are not always bought purely for how it works. SGS5 buyers, perhaps HTC M8, or Lumia 1020 buyers for example, sometimes are also those who are looking for the best, and when what they buy doesn't fit that bill for very long, they may look elsewhere.

Anyone notice LG suddenly outsold SGS5 by a factor of 3 to 1? Samsung better pay attention.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014No consumer was forced to buy any of the devices you mentio... moreAlso, since your sarcastic argument was that since Samsung "probably makes a little bit more money than me" they must be right, isn't the ironic conclusion that Apple must be even more correct, since they make more profit than Samsung? lol

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014No consumer was forced to buy any of the devices you mentio... moreI half agree, and half disagree.

My answer is that SOMETIMES it does matter, depending on what you're selling. If a customer wants the best of the best, and Samsung calls it's top phone the best of the best, the last thing the customer would expect is for this phone to be 'second best' after two months.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014Thank goodness, because the SGS5 is so old now. I can barel... moreNo consumer was forced to buy any of the devices you mentioned. As much as some like the "one size fits all idiots" approach. Some consumers actually like choices. Since Samsung probably makes a little more money than you, I will guess their approach works best. Now, we're seeing companies create "c" versions, 5.5 in, 4.7 in, and they will continue to create 4 in. So, as long as you aren't forced to buy any of them, the number of choices a manufacturer gives you shouldn't be a problem.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014As far as I can tell, the SGS5 Prime is just Samsung tellin... moreGS5 owners can determine if the device they've been using is a POS. Whether a new device is or isn't released has no affect on what a current device can or can't do. If a device was good yesterday, it will be good tomorrow. So, if Samsung doesn't release a new prime device, does that mean owners of the S5 can say, " great, my device is okay now because Samsung didn't release a new one." Either you like your phone or you don't. New releases have now bearing on how your current phone works.

Why are you all complaining? This phone is basically replacing i9506 (S4+).

                      S5 replaced S4, and this S5+ (S5 Prime) is replacing S4+.

I don't know why you are all complaining.

As far as I can tell, the SGS5 Prime is just Samsung telling the current SGS5 owners "Sorry, but our current phone is a piece of s***" don't you think so?

Think about it, if the SGS5 was their absolute best (which it should be as a flagship), why can it suddenly be replaced just barely 2 months afterwards. It kinda shows Samsung didn't put everything into their top phone no?

Variants I can understand, but this, is just insulting.

Thank goodness, because the SGS5 is so old now. I can barely remember when it launched lol.

Was already tired of my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, which replaced my Samsung Galaxy K Zoom which replaced my Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, which replaced my Galaxy S5, which was the Octa version, cos I didnt like the Quad core Cortex version cos it was better than the Quad core Krait version.

Nope, not confusing for the average consumer at all lol.

If they keep the same ugly look with just better processor and screen, and increase the already high price : big failure !
A completely new S6 would be much better, but that would mean all the people responsible for S5 losing face at Samsung.
