i just updated my Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 today 17th June 2014,in Nigeria west Africa.
i got an OTA message to update to 4.4.2 kitkat.
it was sucessfully installed.

It's a business and surely you can see how much more profitable it is to do things this way, even though it borders on being a rip-off to the costumer.

They were not capable to bring 4.4.2 to xxubml4 version of Galaxy S4 Mini and they are bringing to Black Edition which isn't so popular as the xxubml4.. Shame on you Samsung!

This does not make any sense at all. Samsung is getting really cocky and overbearing. I can identify other things they are doing that show how shrewd they have become:
- Sure they update their smartphones to Kitkat especially the high end ones but they leave out the Touchwiz update. Back then, even the mid rangers get the Touchwiz update i.e., Galaxy Ace 2, S Advance.
And now, even the Note 3 doesn't get a Touchwiz update even when it has 3 GB of RAM.
- A couple of years ago, many fans got disappointed when Galaxy S never made the cut for ICS update. Samsung offered a compromise by release a value pack update for the smartphone. How come they can't do that for Galaxy S3?
- Instead of upgrading Galaxy S Duos to Jellybean, they released a newer device with the latest OS at that time.
These are all cocky moves. I seriously hope Samsung would consider their customers and give them at least a committment to update the devices for 2 yrs.

I love how Samsung says they will update the Tab 3 lineup with Kitkat, but it's no where to be found! This is why I HATE Samsung. I don't even believe them when they say it's coming. I just give up with them.

This is really strange seeing that the overall S4 mini sales hasn't been a success. What is even stranger is giving the update to the rare sibling first over the normal one.
