dlads, 10 Jul 2014How long have you been a flaming troll? DivYou are too obsessed with Apple, its consuming you and making you delusional, i bet you get tears in your eyes when you dream about the day Apple will file for bankruptcy. Love them or hate them, either way they win as they are always on your mind.

Oh and if an Apple store get bombed or something you would be on the shortlist of suspects, youre the perfect example as to why NSA isnt all wrong in what they do.

                      This comment says it all

"Unfortunately, we [Apple] were not aware of Zhizhen's patent before we introduced Siri (speech recognition technology) and we do not believe we are using this patent"

Doesn't matter if they are aware or not it doesn't mean it doesn't exist and just shows they did no research prior. I say good on them, Apple an't the only patent trolls and is only a taste of their own medicine for trolling everyone else.

AnonD-183154, 10 Jul 2014Wait, so in China, only 1 company is allowed to own voice r... moreIt's called a patent and it rewards developers exclusivity for their invention.

It is NOT up to Apple to decide whether to pay it or not, they cannot use Siri in iPhones in China

Apple you recall took Samsung to court and won saying Samsung copied / incorporated features fir which Apple had the patent

Today 10/07/14 Eg Gsmarens has reported that TWO Motorola phones have been banned in Germany for PATENT INFRINGEMENT.
If you don't pay you don't get to use it.

Reported at the time Zhizen filed suit
"Zhizhen says it patented its "Xiao i Robot" software in 2004, while Apple's Siri, which made its debut with the release of the iPhone 4S in 2011, was first developed in 2007
Siri, described by Apple as an "intelligent personal assistant", responds to a user's commands through voice recognition software.

The Chinese company's product operates in a similar way and works on Apple's iOS system as well as rival Android.

It has wide application in areas including telecommunications, finance and e-commerce and Zhizhen claims more than 100 million users in China, according to a statement.

It seems to me arrogance on the part of Apple to then sue both Zhizen AND (ALSO) the Patent Office in China having NOT replied to Zhizen legal team letters

So I did laugh at the earlier comment that Zhizen should be sued fir developing this BEFORE Apple.

tIme iRrelevant this from a company that sued a company for the name iPhone years before Apple launched the (second historically speaking) iPhone first

Wait, so in China, only 1 company is allowed to own voice recognition and everybody else have to license it from it? It doesn't matter the underlying method is different and developed independently?

So you're saying that apple haven't kicked up a fuss about nothing when it comes to patents? Patents that they never originally owned and are now in court cases trying to defend them?

Do a bit of reading before you attempt to damn someone.

I'm sure your iphone can manage that.

Its a good investment for China anyway, if US consumers dont have money to buy Chinese stuff then China will suffer badly and the world will fall into a financial crisis that will make the last crisis look like a walk on the beach.

And if you love to make fun of USA then keep in mind that it is the worlds biggest economy and that we all depend on it almost as much as China does, unless your idea of a good life is to hide behind a rock in Afghanistan.

I was under the impression that Apple didn't create Siri but simply bought the company that created it and stopped them making it for Android and Blackberry. Maybe they forgot to patent it in time.
